China Wok — Restaurant in Tampa

I must be in the extreme minority, but the food was meh. I’ve been trying to find good Chinese food here in Tampa, and since this restaurant had 4.7stars I thought I would try it. I called ahead and placed an order so it would be ready when I got there. I ordered the lunch Hunan beef, a small hot n sour soup and a spring roll. They said it would be 10 minutes. I got there in 10 minutes and I waited for an additional 15 minutes. Okay, not excited about it taking 15 minutes longer, especially since there is only one couple eating food and 1 person waiting for food, but I thought maybe the food would explain why it took longer. The hot n sour soup was a little spicy but very bland, the hunan beef was okay and the spring roll was a prepackaged, frozen spring roll that was more greasy than normal. I ate a 1/4 of the hunan beef, 1/3 of the soup and a bite of the roll. I was so disappointed. I will keep looking for a good Chinese restaurant. I will specifically look for one that isn’t “ New York Style” because none...

This was the second restaurant I compared to the Chinese restaurant we go to all the time in Tampa. We ordered roughly the same thing as we usually do: General Tso's chicken, homestyle tofu, fried dumplings, and shrimp lo mein.

The homestyle tofu was pretty close to the same as the other place. A solid 8.5 out of 10. The shrimp lo mein was also good, but not amazing. 6 out of 10. The dumplings were lightly fried and bland, and the dipping sauce was completely underwhelming. 1 out of 10. Finally, the General Tso's chicken was okay. If I didn't regularly get amazing General Tso's, I would even consider it good. But, compared to where we usually go, it was a 4 or 5 out of 10.

Ordering online was quick and easy. Pick up was easy and fast. So, lots to like about the service. But it was also about 10% more expensive than our regular place.

I recently ordered from China Wok Restaurant for some Chinese take-out, and I have to say, I was thoroughly impressed. The food was absolutely delicious and the service was excellent.

I ordered the General Tso's Chicken, Beef with Broccoli, and Fried Rice, and all of the dishes were cooked to perfection. The flavors were authentic and the portion sizes were generous. The prices were also very reasonable, which made the experience even better.

The staff was friendly and accommodating, and my order was ready for pickup in no time. The packaging was also very neat and tidy, which I appreciated.
