I've driven past this restaurant many times and finally decided to stop by and give it a try. I'm glad we did.
First, the food... We ordered shrimp tostadas, chicken Mexican tacos, and chicken flautas along with the horchata. The portions were large. The shrimp tostadas were good and flavorful, but the shrimp wasn't seasoned before being cooked, so it wasn't as flavorful as it could have been. The chicken street tacos were amazing! Simple but the chicken was very well-seasoned. We've been trying Mexican street tacos all over Tampa and these are the best we've had. We'll be going back just for these in the future. The flautas were good - topped with cheese, on a bed of tomatoes and lettuce and served with rice and refried beans. They were not our favorite dish, but they were still quite good. Also, they served chips and salsa as an appetizer on the house. The house chips were thick and flavorful; the salsa was a bit too spicy for my wife and son. The horchata was super strong and one glass was enough for all of us.
The ambience... I think this restaurant would qualify as a "hole-in-the-wall." It's not upscale dining, but perfectly acceptable for us. It's rather informal, but the waiter was very kind and attentive. Only about 20 to 25 people could be seated inside, but they were busy with takeout orders as well.
Had the other dishes been as good as the tacos, I would have given them 5 stars. Chicken...
Read moreIf I could give this place zero stars, I would. I work near the restaurant and my friends and I were craving quesadillas so we decided to give it a try. I asked for a side of sour cream. When my friend returned with the food we opened the containers and the quesadillas and rice were drenched in what I would describe as bean sludge (I did not want beans). I asked about the sour cream and my friend said they said it's on the salad. So I open the salad and there is about a tea spoon of sour cream for this giant quesadilla I had. My friend called to speak the the manager and they told her she must have driven crazy which is why the beans spilled. We only work 2 minutes away. There wasn't even time to drive crazy enough for this presentation. The manager copped an attitude and hung up on her then forwarded to voicemail when she called back. We just want our money back for this garbage. This...

The seafood meals were without a doubt the highlight of our trip. We made the choice to check out this section of the menu, and we weren't let down. The seafood selections were a nice surprise, demonstrating the restaurant's dedication to genuine flavours and premium ingredients. The Grilled Shrimp Tacos were a seafood lover's dream, and I had the pleasure of tasting them. The prawns were expertly grilled and had a really rich, scorched flavour. Fresh cilantro, onions, and a spicy salsa were used as garnishes on the tacos, which brought the dish's flavours to a...
