We were craving for south Indian food so we looked up on internet and found this place which had good reviews regarding dosa. So we decided to eat at this place. DosaHut is a small restaurant with a limited seating capacity. For dinner we ordered Chole Bhature, Jaipur Paneer Dosa, Urad Vada, Masala Dosa and Chilli Rava Masala. We got our order quickly in around 10 mins. Chole Bhature was okay but the dosas were amazing. The best dosas I have had in Tampa. The standout was Jaipur Paneer Dosa. It was amazing in taste and had right amount of spice. The rest of them were also amazing. Do try out this place as they are serving amazing dosas.
For Saturday brunch, we decided to have dosa from DosaHut. Since we had dosa from DosaHut before so, we kind of knew what to expect and what was the menu. When we entered the restaurant we got seated and after browsing through the menu we ordered Mysore Masala Dosa, Chili Rava Masala Dosa and Masala Idli. The service was good and soon we got our dosa as well as Idli. First we had Mysore Masala Dosa. The masala in dosa was cooked perfectly and dosa was delicious along with sambhar and chutney. Delicious dosa. Then we had Chili Rava Masala Dosa which was spicy with green chili and that made it delicious and tasty. Then we had Masala Idli which was soft and cooked perfectly and we had it with sambhar. The dosa and idli that we had at DosaHut was amazing...
Read moreDecent but not authentic South Indian Dosas. We are South Indians just for the record. The batter used for the dosa was not proper ( confirmed with mom) also sambar was not up to south indian standard. The other two chutneys were good, portions were large and price was fair. This is my honest opinion from someone who is an expert in South Indian cuisine. By the way the so called "owner" (claims to be) was rude and condescending perhaps a language barrier so I let it slide. The young man with him was very professional but there's also a child in the back walking around, eating the food in the open and took my order, very strange and questionable practices. Most importantly again this is my opinion. I prefer sushi from a Japanese place and I prefer dosas from a South Indian restaurant, preferably Tamil restaurant. I am still not sure if this is actually authentic ( IT'S NOT AUTHENTIC), I did not want to ask due to the already rude behavior of the owner. I am sure their other items are ok but dosa for us, I will have to pass. We have had authentic...
Read moreWe ordered: Cheese and Onion dosa Ghee Masala Dosa Urad Vada Masala Dosa Chili Rava Masala Dosa Uttapam
Everything came with a delicious, slightly spicy lentil soup with vegetables as well as some chutneys. The green one had a lot of ginger in it which I love.
The Urad Vada was crispy. The batter was good but I would try the masala vada next time for some added flavor.
The dosas were all delicious. Crispy where it counts and packed with filling. The cheese and Onion dosa had a ton of onions and the other dosas were filled with potatoes.
I don't see the uttapam on the online menu but that was tasty as well. Covered in toppings you could barely see the dosa.
The owner said they do a lot of catering and let us try a little bit of stuff from that as well. There was a sweet dish called almond halwa that was incredible. Not overly sweet and an interesting texture had us keep taking bites of it even though we were stuffed.
Great experience, the owner is very nice. It's kind of a long way for us but we would go out of our...
