New China King — Restaurant in Tampa

their food is good. i wish they had more images on their website for each menu item. they are very flexible and will do special orders with customized meat choices for dietary restrictions so i applaud that.

on a recent visit, i picked up 3 items for a total of around $40. the young lady was understandably somewhat frustrated that i interrupted her meal to pickup my order (that is not a problem, I also get frustrated when customers interrupt my hot meal). but the complaint i have is that when I elected to not tip she seemed to be in disbelief and displeased according to her facial expression. every customer regardless of the service that they were provided should not be treated with discrimination based on their personal choice of paid gratitude/tips. each customer has their own personal circumstance.

I am a local in this area and have probably ordered here hundreds of times during my life and I can confidently say New China King is the best Chinese food and takeout food I've ever had. While not being opened on Monday is a bummer, the food is always great. The lunch menu and combo menu values are unbeatable and you get a fulfilling meal with rice and a drink / egg rolls for a great price. The restaurant itself is as authentic as takeout restaurants can get with it's faded menu and walk in feel (in a good way). I have never once been disappointed with my food and service here and the drink selection is great. I will continue to go here for the foreseeable future. Bring Halal meat, they will make it (party tray).

Few amazing things to talk about. The owner and family are so nice. They are very pleasant and accommodating. You feel a lot of kindness when speaking with them. If you eat halal, they will prepare their dishes with halal meat if you provide it to them!!!!! The food is amazing. I am an ex NYer and I miss the halal chinese options we had up north, but thankfully this restaurant solves the issue. I especially love the chicken with broccoli and the general tsos chicken.
