I used to go to Fitfood on McMullen Booth Rd. In Clearwater. I watched a segment about FitEx on the news and absolutely loved the fact that they measure every single ingredient that goes into your meal. When you are trying to lose weight that is crucial!
. I looked Fit Ex up online and could not believe all the choices in their menu. I decided to take a drive over to Tampa and went in on Sunday morning when they just received a new delivery. Molly was the person on staff and she was absolutely amazing. She was very knowledgeable and patient.
As I started to choose my 14 meals people started coming in and I felt like I needed to hurry. Instead, the customers were so nice and told me to take my time. They were giving rave reviews about the food and telling me how much I would love it!
So far I have tried 4 of the 14 meals that I purchased, and they have all been outstanding. They were so good in fact, that I would eat these meals regardless of dieting, I love the fact that the food is freshly prepared, never frozen, and basically clean eating at its finest. All the meals that I saw were under 500 cal. I do not know how you pack that much flavor in a meal that is under 500 cal but THANK YOU!
This is absolutely the perfect option for me. As a single person it is way more expensive for me to buy groceries and cook for myself, than to do their meal program (not to mention the fact that these were absolutely restaurant quality and my dinners generally do NOT taste this good lol). All the work is done for me, and I can just enjoy a fresh cooked meal without even thinking about it. Hopefully they will not raise their prices! It is at the perfect price point in my opinion. They also offer a delivery service that is very reasonable, which I may choose to do in the future. Excellent quality and value!...
Read moreMy original review was unfair, and I have decided to up the rating to 3 stars. To first emphasis the positives with Fitex the food was amazing, and the ease of ordering meals was very convenient. The delivery was always spot on and the texts letting us know when to pick our meals and when the deliveries were made are very thoughtful. Now the negative. Although I still feel the same regarding the portion sizing, I did make a mistake on choosing my original rating. Also, it has nothing to do with whether or not I can afford it and was inappropriate for the owner to put down a paying customer but rather it has to do with the cost to benefit ratio in regard to the portion sizing. I chose 4 meals a day for seven days even if I chose 5 meals which is the max according to the website the calorie count (being on average 400 Cal per meal) is not sufficient for a healthy diet, for two people that is. Again, this was a factor because my (small) wife is a new mother who is breastfeeding and needs the calories, and I am an active average sized male, and the meal sizes definitely were not enough to be considered a proper meal. When my wife says she is still hungry and of course I am too, that’s when you know it’s not enough to be considered a dinner or even a lunch. Although I love the variety and the taste and the whole premise of Fitex, I cannot justify going grocery shopping to supplement my premade meals. Lastly, yes, the website states the calorie count of the meals and that was my oversight when purchasing them but after reviewing others reviews, many other reviewers agree the portion sizes are just too small. After I spoke with my wife about the review, I was going to up the review to 4 stars, but the owners callous comment...
Read moreI tried FitEX Meals, Rebuilt Meals, and one other local meal service, and FitEX wins hands down. Their meals taste better, they have more variety, and their portions are larger. I have been pretty happy with FitEX Meals, but I do wish they would add some more selections. After a couple months, you have to order stuff you've tried before everytime because there's nothing new. Most of their meals are tasty, but there are a few that are rather boring. Their butter chicken was really bad. Butter chicken is supposed to be served swimming in sauce, but theirs just had a light coating of sauce. It was really bland. Also, their gyro bowl is not good. It's just shaved beef with tsatziki sauce. Gyro meat is supposed to be seasoned, but their meat had no seasoning. Their turkey chili is good, but it needs some spice and they should not put red bell pepper in it. They should add a small amount of cayenne pepper to spice it up a bit instead. Oh, and their "biscuits and gravy" is nothing like biscuits and gravy; it's gnocci with sausage gravy and it's good, but not as good. Also their "turkey lasagna" is not lasagna. It's just ziti tube noodles with turkey marinara meat sauce and a little ricotta mixed in. I don't know why they just don't call it ziti with turkey marinara sauce, in fact I don't know why they just don't make real lasagna. Also, they have too many variations of their cheeseburger bowls. They're just the same meal with a little bit of variation and it gets very repetitive. Most of the meals are good, but they may struggle keeping long term customers if they don't offer new selections...
