VERY DISSAPPOINTED STAY. STAY AWAY FROM HERE!! AS A PLATINUM MARRIOTT MEMBER AND ROOM PAID FOR IN ADVANCE IT TOOK over 45 mins to get checked in. This hotel WOULD NOT LET ME CHECK IN BECAUSE THE CARD ON FILE DID NOT MATCH THE CARD USED TO BOOK FOR THE REQUESTED ADDITIONAL $50 DEPOSIT TO CHECK IN. THEY DID NOT ACCEPT CASH EITHER AT THE FRONT DESK. THIS EPISODE TOOK 45 MINS EXTRA TO RECEIVE THEIR KEY. I HAD TO CALL MARRIOTT CUSTOMER SERVICE ON THE PHONE TO GET THEM TO CHANGE CARD ON FILE. THEN THE CLERK MATT AND THE OTHER CLERK A BLACK LADY WERE VERY UN FRIENDLY AND UNCOOPERATIVE, QUITE RUDE TO SAY THE LEAST!!!. THEY THEN ASSIGNED US TO ROOM 220. THEN AT 6AM IN THE MORNING THERE IS AN ONGOING CONVERSATION SOMEONE IS HAVING ON THEIR PHONE SOMEWHERE NEAR MY ROOM THAT CONTINUED AND ITS NOW 8:30AM. I CALLED THE FRONT DESK AND COMPLAINED AND WAS TOLD THERE IS FITNESS CENTER BELOW MY ROOM 220 AND THERE WASNT ANYTHING THEY COULD DO ABOUT THE NOISE???, UGGGGH!!!! THIS PHONE CONVERSATION CONTINUED AT 8:30AM WHEN I CALLED FRONT DESK AND ASKED FOR A ROOM CHANGE. I BELIEVE THIS ROOM PLACEMENT0 IN ROOM 220 WAS INTENTIONAL BECAUSE OF THE DIFFICULTIES THAT WENT ON DURING CHECK IN AND WHAT WE ENDURED AND ENCOUNTERED AT THE FRONT DESK THE DAY OF CHECK IN BECAUSE THE HOTEL WASN'T FULL AND THEY KNEW THE FITNESS CENTER WAS BELOW THIS ROOM. I WAS GIVEN A CHECK OUT FOR 2PM WHEN ASKED FOR A 4PM AND WAS TOLD IT DEPENDED ON THEIR AVAILABLITY!!! I WAS CHECKING OUT THIS MORNING BUT HAD TO CHANGE THE ROOM DUE TO THIS FITNESS CENTER NOISE BELOW. AFTER THE ROOM CHANGE I WAS TOLD 4PM CHECK OUT WAS FINE. GET THIS!! INITIALLY LAST NIGHT THEY WOULD NOT HONOR A 4PM LATE CHECK OUT BUT NOW THIS MORNING THEY HAVE AGREED TO 4PM. MATT SAID ONLY IF SPACE PERMITS RIGHT??? UPON LEAVING THE HOTEL THE VALET ATTENDANT SAID THE HOTEL WAS EMPTY SATURDAY MORNING AND EVERYONE CHECKED OUT FROM THST FRIDAY. I CHECKED IN SATURDAY NIGHT BUT MATT REFUSED TO GIVE 4PM LATE CHECK OUT AND THE HOTEL WAS EMPTY!!!! HMMMM ALSO ONLY VALET PARKING IS AVAILABLE @ $44 DAILY!! NOT ACCESSIBLE TO RESTAURANTS JUST LOCAL EXPENSIVE VENUES!!! BEWARE STAY AWAY THIS HOTEL (ELEMENT-MARRIOTT) IS TOTALLY NOT WORTH NONE OR ANY OF ALL OF THIS INCONVENIENCE!! BELOW:: LISTEN TO THE VIDEO WITH THIS NOISE PENETRATING INTO MY ROOM AT 6:30AM...

We were driving from out of town to Tampa and we called at 8 am asking for an early check in, we receive a call around 1 pm saying that they had rooms available for us to check in earlier than expected.
We arrive to the hotel at our exact check in time 3 pm. Front desk assistant named Zee black hair, African American woman was extremely rude saying our rooms will not be ready for 3 more hours around 6 pm because platinum members were still occupying our rooms. When I started asking questions she yelled at me saying my name was not in the reservation but my husbands and that she will not speak to me only to him, in front of other guests.
We proceed to call a manager since we’d only be in Tampa for 6 hours and didn’t make sense to be 3 hours waiting at the hotel lobby for a room we reserved days in advance!
The manager Amanda Holiday was also extremely rude saying there was nothing she could do! And if we want we could have a drink on the house or. $20 dollars discount on our $400 room. A drink on the house for waiting 3 hours for our room?
They kept repeating you haven’t even paid in full for the hotel room so you’re more than welcome to going somewhere else. I’ve worked in the hospitality industry at Marriott hotels for years and I’ve never experienced treatments like this at a hotel.
None of the staff were using name tags either!! When I asked about their names they said they wouldn’t give us their names either. How is that possible at a hotel? Not even the manager Amanda wanted to give me her last name only her initials who knows if that’s her real name.
Hotel corridor was also dirty for hours and no one cleaned it.
Worst experience ever! After driving 6 hours to Tampa we had to drive back with no sleep because It didn’t make sense to check in at our room at 6 pm.
Never staying at element hotel in my life again and will make sure all my friends know about...
Read moreWe left a note for the manager, who was unavailable before we left, about our extremely negative experience with our cell and email and heard not a peep. We also shared our contact information in a survey where we shared our extremely negative experience and didn’t hear from anyone. The many things that were wrong with our stay: The room was DIRTY! There were hairs in the bathroom, in the shower and on the toilet that were not ours. The toilet seat was dirty, as were the night stands. The hardware/handle on the shower door broke. The motion detector technology kept causing the lights to shut off. At night, the motion detector "click" woke us when we turned over in bed. The air conditioning would not stay at the temperature we set it at, causing us to wake up throughout the evening feeling warm. The bed linens weren't soft, to say the least. There was no shelf in the shower to hold the shampoo/soap. There was a half filled ice tray in the freezer. There was no hair dryer. We were encouraged, more than once, to check out the rooftop bar, and when we arrived were told they were full and we needed a reservation. Perhaps, with such strong encouragement, the front desk might offer to make a reservation or at least let guests know they’re needed, or it can be part of the hotel reservation process. We were offered the opportunity to change rooms as we were checking out and I wanted to speak to the manager to complain about the stay and one wasn’t available, so I left a note with these full details. I trust had we not been in a rush to leave for an engagement soon after we arrived and had the time to repack, or not been so tired when we returned, and been able to report all of this, an offer to change rooms would likely have been offered. But, at minimum, the DIRTY environment should have NEVER happened, ESPECIALLY...
