Hopefully I am not exposing anyone's secret spot, but Leads Coffeehouse is arguably THE secret garden of the Tampa-proper coffee shop scene and hang out. I had the opportunity to stop by last week with some co-workers while we were all running low on some caffeine and was extremely happy with finding Leads Coffeehouse.
Located where some might call the "Cusp of South Tampa" (no - actually, no one calls it that and realistically it's only self-proclaimed branding is what's happening here), Leads Coffeehouse is right off North Himes Avenue, paralleling the main drag of Dale Mabry. It does seem like it's in the neighborhood cuts, but that is arguably a part of the appeal of Leads Coffee.
The shop does not make itself apparent - whether you're driving by or deliberately looking for it. The signs seem to indicate a Guzman Law Firm, along with Networking Leads - which seem to be some sort of co-working space. However, if you look closely at the sign - you will notice the coffeehouse in fine print. Even as you are walking up, the coffeehouse appears hidden in plain sight - almost like a speakeasy, but for coffee, i.e. legalized crack for daywalkers. There is a parking lot for the venue, however the spaces are rather limited.
Inside, you will find a very inviting space with home-y decor and color palettes to match. The seating appears very conducive for study and small work gatherings. Aside from that, I found the postal card mailbox extremely interesting and I will definitely come back here to take advantage of this offering.
There is a "traditional" coffee menu with specialized drinks, along with a seasonal bevvie list. Additionally, you can order small eats and baked goods. The baristas and servers are extremely friendly and welcoming.
Overall, Leads Coffeehouse is ultimately a great coffee shop to bring friends, family, and co-workers to share...
Read moreNeeds improvement. My husband and I stopped in here yesterday for a quick bite and a recharge. The place was hard to find. The outdoor signage is small so you can’t see it from the street. The door was really dirty upon walking in; just give it a quick wipe down. The staff was super friendly and inviting which was nice, but there was only one person working so our food and coffee took about 15 min to come out. The bigger bathroom is disgusting. The floor needs to be mopped; it looks like it was never done. Having the paper towel that you WIPE YOUR HANDS WITH located on the back of the toilet is SUPER gross and unsanitary! Obviously the owner does not know how much dirty water a toilet splashes when you flush it. Paper towel holders are inexpensive and mount right to the wall. They even have ones that stick without screws. Invest in one. The food was pretty good, I’d give it a 6 out of 10. Half of my husbands Cuban sandwich was moist and the other half dry. The pork probably needed to be mixed a little. I ordered an egg, cheese and tomato on a croissant. It was delicious but the egg was a bit salty for my personal preference. The lids on the to go cups do NOT stay on great as these cups are made to be used in an office setting and not to go. And the coffee tasted burnt for both me and my husband. Overall, we...
Read moreThis is a fairly new coffee shop that is connected to a cowork space and law firm. The shop has coffee, food, and mocktails and the idea is to provide a space that allows people to network and also get work done.
Some coffee shops have this attitude that they don't want to have people work out of them and Networking Leads Coffee House is the opposite of that, they actually want you to work there and its obvious by the amount of plugs, Wi-Fi, and comfortable seating spread throughout.
They invite speakers from around the business community regularly to talk about their businesses and network with others which is pretty neat considering Tampa really needs more of that.
The coffee tastes great and the barista has plenty of experience in hospitality and food and it's really obvious. During my visit I had the chicken salad sandwich which was delicious as well as some street tacos that were also quite good. It's great to have a coffee shop that offers more than just baked goods or sandwiches.
This coffee shop is a really great choice for people who have business in West Tampa, South Tampa, or even North Hyde Park and is in a central part of town being close to Raymond James Stadium, International Plaza, and other local attractions and business districts in Westshore.
I'll be...
