Guanabo Coffee Shop — Restaurant in Tampa

Dropped by today for coffee but didn’t know where the menu was or what to ask for. Both the cashier and barista were quick to help. I said coffee. And he walked over to the coffee section to the left behind the counter. I was so overwhelmed by the absence of English or signs directing this idiot where to go. But I had read a review about amazing Cuban cafe con leche so I stood my ground and asked for a cafe con leche.

I’ve never had it before. But I’m from the islands and this coffee absolutely reminded me of home. It was piping hot and aromatic. So nostalgic. And the tattooed, beautiful woman behind the register was a dose of muted hospitality. She was so warm and welcoming without being overbearing or overwhelming. So old school. And so much appreciated. So far, this has been the best experience in Tampa!

Excellent place, small and cozy, but believe me, from the moment you walk in you can notice the cleanliness and excellent service.I recommend all the meals, and the shakes in particular. I was really in the mood to try a Cuban pizza, but I was already full.The croquettes and stuffed yuca were more than delicious, and the Cuban sandwich was more than excellent and large. In fact, I ordered one for 2 people because it was too big.The service, to be highlighted, is excellent. I've been to few places where I've felt like this. Delicious food and excellent customer service! It's a cozy, Cuban food hole in the wall with a small menu, but totally worth it. I'm just a tourist visiting the beaches here and I was looking for a quick bite so I googled local cafes. I had the Steak sandwich and a guava milkshake and it definitely hit the spot.
