I just went there to have a cortadito and an empanada, and the service was awful. The blond lady with glasses behind the desk served me the coffee with a lot of sugar on it and left me there unattended for 15 min. Meanwhile, I was trying to get her attention to ask for a new coffee, she never acknowledged me so I had to get up from my chair and walk to her desk to tell her that my coffe had sugar added and she got upset at me because I was supposed to know (according to her) that all coffee comes with sugar unless I specify not to add any... I got confused and went back to my table. She bought my empanada and the new cortadito that had no milk on it. No only that but I called her again 3 times to ask for raw sugar and AGAIN SHE DID NOT PAY ANY ATTENTION to me. She was busy charging credit cards for to go orders than paying attention to the customers that she already had in the building waiting for her service. Next to me was another table that order before us and food was ready, the cook called her 3 times to serve the table next to me and she didn't go to the kitchen to get the plates so the cook himself serve the food to the clients, and at this point my cortadito without milk is cold and I had to ask the cook to bring me raw sugar and a spoon ... he bought it right away. I know he saw my facial expression and realized that i was upset and he offered me 2 slices of pizza to try for free, but we didn't accept it.. he was very nice, and we loved and appreciated his efforts to make us feel better. The empanada was excellent, food tastes good but the problem there is that lady and her attitude towards the customers. She should never put sugar on anybody coffee in first place but more importantly never tell the customers that is our fault her poor service skills. Love the place but I would not comeback because of that lady's attitude and poor...
Read moreTwo stars because the Cafe con Leche was one of the best I have ever had, too bad the experience was over-shadowed by what appeared to be laziness. Today was not the best service that could have been given in an empty restaurant (we were 2 for breakfast). Coffee and mango juice took almost 10 minutes to arrive after ordering. I ordered the 3 eggs with bread and bacon, my guest got an omelette with sausage, grill cheese, and toast. Almost everything came out after 20 minutes except the omelette and sausage, hmmm. I was almost done with my meal when the omelette came out but without the sausage. The server/cashier suddenly had terrible English and claimed the sausage (a word she no longer understands so I translated "salchichon")was not ordered. Thankfully, I know enough Spanish to explain my problem. The server brought the check and added the toast to my breakfast for an extra $1.99 when Huevos comes with tostada. I asked her to remove the extra charge. I should not have to teach the employees the menu, I should have not have to witness the cooks standing in the front for minutes ogling the little girls wearing bikinis that came in with their family when they should be in the back making my breakfast, I should not have to have servers lie to me because they think I do not speak the language. Teresita does not have these issues and it is not far away. This should not happen. The worst part is the we still gave the cashier/server a $5 tip on a $25 check and did not even receive an apology, because in her eyes we were liars. The buyer is not...
Read moreVERY DRY, HARD, OLD, DRY, SUPER DRY PORK in my to go order. You could look at it and tell it was dry, tough, and stringy. But the food was also very oily, which was confusing.
The arroz moro was "okay," lacking any flavor. Quite oily. Plaintains "okay." Very tangy. Salad came with no dressing, had to ask for some. Also had a very bitter taste. (Was it washed...?)
The pork was also VERY VINEGARY. It would have been nice to know it was vinegar flavored pork, because I wouldn't have ordered it -- I hate vinegar on my meats/in my food.
The upside was the lady with the cute glasses at the front was very nice and helpful. I wish the food was as good as the woman who served it to me.
I was excited about trying the food here, based on reviews and the looks of it. The entire meal was so unfortunate -- and the port SO obviously very dry -- I don't have confidence I'd have better luck next time.
If the restaurant reads this, please consider discarding old/dry meats and using less oil. It's really not fair to offer such dry food...
