I recently visited WingHouse in Tampa, and the experience was disappointing on nearly every front. While our server did her best to provide attentive service, the food quality and execution were shockingly poor for a restaurant built around its wing offerings.
The wings themselves were undercooked upon arrival—a mistake that not only ruins the meal but also raises serious food safety concerns. Though the staff did take them back to the kitchen for re-preparation, the damage was done, and my confidence in the quality of the meal was completely undermined.
The Buffalo Medium sauce was another major letdown. A proper Buffalo sauce should be a simple, balanced mix of hot sauce and butter emulsified into a smooth coating. Instead, this sauce was neither properly emulsified nor balanced—it seemed poorly mixed and lacked the tangy, spicy kick that makes Buffalo sauce so iconic. The flavor felt off, as if minimal care had been given to its preparation.
Further compounding the disappointment, none of the sauces or dressings appeared to be made in-house. Even the ranch dressing was packaged Ken’s, which felt like a slap in the face when so many restaurants now take pride in crafting house-made accompaniments. For a concept that should excel in bold, memorable flavors, this reliance on prepackaged products was unacceptable.
Ultimately, I didn’t eat the wings. After a few bites, I realized the quality of the meal didn’t justify continuing. I paid my bill and left, deeply dissatisfied. While I appreciate the efforts of the server, the kitchen and management need a serious overhaul to meet even the most basic expectations of food quality and preparation.
For a restaurant with “Wing” in its name, the inability to deliver properly cooked wings and classic sauces is a glaring failure. I cannot recommend this location to anyone, and I hope WingHouse will take a hard look at their processes—from sourcing ingredients to training kitchen staff—before they lose even more loyal customers.
Save yourself the frustration and find a spot that values its food and customers enough to put in the necessary effort. This experience was disappointing from start to finish, and I will not...
Read moreIf I could give this place zero stars I would definitely do it, me and my TBB employees went here for our pre-training camp meal. First let's start with the food I ordered the steak quesadillas (it was chopped steak...it should say that on the menu as that is not the same as steak and they had green peppers and raw jalapeños with weird romaine lettuce just thrown in front) my one friend got the burger and the other one got a pizza, which was supposed to be thin crust but came out looking big and bulky. We will now discuss the service there maybe was 8 people in the whole place it took over 10 min to get an iced tea, the ketchup was empty on the tables...we had to walk around going table to table to find one --- THEN here is the icing on this ..when my friends got their bills the amount was $4 difference then on the menu, example $7.99 for the pizza charged $11.99 on the bill the burger was the same way, they tried to say it was because of the fries but they came with the burger - we asked to speak to the manager and we were told he was on a conference call. We had a call time of 530p, it was 5p and we asked to see someone at 435p... we could not be late, finally a manager comes and says oh well we got new menus we just haven't put them out yet. Really??? Yeah....I have never heard of that before...so if you are going here, you better check your bill...I only wonder how many people don't (if you are drinking I guess you probably wouldn't notice) $4 per ticket adds up... extremely...
Read moreOur visit started off good. The lobby/waiting area is a tad bit small. Was seated quickly, server was friendly took our order food came for everyone but myself the server said she'll go have it made. 10 minutes went by our server came by and noticed I still haven't received my food she said she'll go find out whats going on.. Another 15 minutes went by asked another server where our server might have gone because I was still waiting for my food she said she wasn't sure, but she would take care of my food and got the manager for us. He greeted us and apologized went and personally brought my food and said he'll take it off the bill. Our original server came back and was relieved but I could tell embarrassed then about 25 minutes after I finish my food another order of my food showed up and the kitchen and runner didn't realize the mistake. I will say other than that everything was good. Not complaining I know it happens but was very happy with how the manager treated us. The food was very good even with this mishap I'll still choose a wing house over Hooters. We had a chicken cesar wrap, a salad, wings, 2 boneless wing baskets (3 including the mistake order) a side of tots, pretzel bites, 2 chicken tender kids meals. Every was great as far as taste and temp. goes. This visit will not keep me from returning. The manager and quality/taste/temp of food is what made me...
