The Lab Coffee - Heights — Restaurant in Tampa

In the past I've pointed to the other The Lab location as being one of the best coffee shops in the United States. I remain steadfast on that stance, but felt the need to extend that same praise to this location. I've always admired The Lab for what has to be an obsessive dedication to quality. Every time I order the foods or beverages, they are prepared to the same exacting delicious detail. Their menu is limited because they won't make what they can't make great. Opening a second location is an exceptionally big risk for a small restaurant business, in large part due to the challenge of extending quality standards across two locations when one owner or subject matter expert can obviously only be in one place at a time. Somehow, The Lab is doing it, and doing it marvelously. Jalapeno bagel sandwich is undefeated, and the dirty chai is still the best in the country. Been here a couple times now and it gives a very grab and go vibe. Not much parking and the inside is quite small so a bit difficult to hang out for a "coffee date." Throw alllllll that away as any reason to not try this place because if you care about coffee, you need to try The Lab. Their flavor syrups are made in house so they actually taste like the flavor you are wanting. My wife got a lavender latte and I got a dirty chai. Both were the best we've had. PERIOD. Nothing needed to be added, nothing needed to be changed. Every time we've been, you can smell the delicious food they have for what feels like blocks. The atmosphere is great very nice coffee shop but it seems like they dilute everything with milk. My Matcha taste like straight milk. I did ask them if they can remake it, which was very kind of them and they did, but it still taste like the same thing. Matcha has a grass taste and this just taste like milk…. 2% milk to be exact. Same with the coffee as well. You can add milk to the drink but not to the point where your missing the actual point of the drink…..If you’re gonna dilute everything with milk, just take it off the menu. The burritos are definitely a frozen burrito. The customer service is amazing I will not deny that. It just feels like where being stingy...
