Since Applebee's came to Guam, this has only been my 3rd experience here, and here's my reason why. Don't get me wrong, I understand that Guam is so far out there in terms of location-wise. It still does not count as not being as wonderful as the other locations in the mainland. However I give props for those that work here, for trying their best to put a good foot in there for our island community. However, this does not mean that we shouldn't put our best foot forward in trying to make a name for Guam. However, the customer service could use alot of work there, instead of staff congregating on the side and not entertaining customers who would like refills to their drinks and shouldn't have to search for someone to top off their glasses. Also, the food could use a little work, and maybe add some seasoning to the entrees, like their burgers and such. Also, more attention is needed when placing orders. For example, I am unable to eat dairy products...so I had asked for an entree without the cheese, and low and behold, my food had cheese in it. So instead of waiting a while again, I ended up having to remove half of my food because the cheese was so heavily cooked in my food. To top it off, my husband had asked for fries to go with his burger. But instead got onion rings...when I had brought it up to the floor manager, she said it's okay, and that she will bring out some fries, no charge. We were somewhat disappointed that we just ate what we could, paid the bill, and left...so this is my reason for waiting a while to come back and see if they have improved. And it looks like Applebee's is going to have to wait a while longer for us to come back again.... never again will I pay $66 again and not get what I paid for....it's true about the saying, "sometimes it's not about the quantity of food that matters, it's the quality...
Read moreWent to dinner with friends from work. The restaurant was not that busy but somehow it still took a long time to even get drinks. I ordered a burger well done with crispy bacon. What I got was a raw burger with undercooked bacon. Several of my friends recieved undercooked and/ or incorrect food that took a very long time to come out, especially given how undercooked it was. Most of the group recieved cold food of one kind or another. Nearly all of our fries were cold. After waiting several minutes for wait staff to return to the table I finally stood up and had to flag down someone. When I tried to explain what was wrong, my plate was snatched from my hand. One of my friends was supposed to be getting her food remade but it never came out. Another friend never recieved his drink. When we finally were able to flag down a server for refills, they tried to refill my 7up with water and got two other drinks completely wrong.
As an added bonus, I got to spend my night, and thus far most of my morning, running to the bathroom and had to take the day off work for fear of being more than 20 feet from a bathroom.
Overall, service was bad. Never have I ever had to consistently search for waitstaff to flag down. Our server, as well as others, did not present a positive and friendly attitude. Food was awful, just awful. We been after multiple complaints, no manager ever came by the table and spoke to us. No explanation nor apologies were offered, and nothing was done to make any of us to ever want to return.
I strongly encourage you to avoid this place. This was not my first bad experience here but will...
Read moreI've been to Applebee’s in the States before—not a regular go-to, but when I did visit, the food was solid. Nothing fancy, but it got the job done with no real complaints. The Guam location, on the other hand, has been a little more hit or miss for me. I’ve visited several times over the years, and while some visits were great, others felt a bit underwhelming. Still, I want to give credit where it’s due and share my most recent experience, which leaned more positive.
One of the main reasons I used to enjoy coming here was the salad bar. It was one of my favorites on island because it wasn’t just basic greens—it included soup and kelaguen, which gave it a local touch that set it apart. I do miss that feature and hope to see it make a comeback one day.
Last month, my daughter and I came in for lunch. It was quiet when we arrived, and we were seated right away. The service was definitely the highlight—our server was warm, attentive, and made the experience feel welcoming from start to finish. We ordered the lunch special (I can’t remember the exact price, but it included an appetizer, two entrees, and drinks), and overall, it felt like a great value. Portions were generous—we even had leftovers to take home.
The food was decent—good, but not particularly memorable. That said, with the friendly service and fair pricing, I left feeling satisfied and hopeful. There’s a lot of potential here, and with a little more consistency in food quality, this location could easily become a solid favorite again.
Sorry, no pics this time -- totally forgot...
