Bernie's Bar — Restaurant in Tamuning Municipality

Excellent service and atmosphere, highly recommend!

I was visiting Guam for a 1 week military exercise and ended up at a hotel just across from this place. After checking on my first night I wandered across the street to try to find a drink and something to eat.

I stumbled into Bernie's Bar where about 10 locals were having a great time drinking, chatting, and singing karaoke. Aki, the bartender, quickly sought me out to make sure I didn't go without service and Bernie, the owner, came to greet me after only a couple minutes of sitting in the bar. There was a spread of free food along the back counter, that night was BBQ made by one of the frequent patrons and it was phenomenal.

The local guys at the bar came up to me to chat and make me feel welcome. As a military visitor to the island, I was worried about just dropping into a local joint, but the reception was actually overwhelming with kindness and even gratitude for military service.

I went back here 4 of 5 nights I stayed in Guam bringing friends with me on more than one occasion. Every time the girls, Aki & Bernie, recognized me and my friends, welcomed us warmly, and provided over-the-top service. Each night, the local regulars made sure to chat with me and anyone I brought with me. Several people gave me their contact information ''in case you ever come back to Guam and need anything."

I don't know if my travels will take me back to Guam, but if they do I'll be stopping at...

A really good bar in a hideaway location. Music wasn't too loud. Some lady was wanting to fight me (who I later found out was the owner) fortunately for them we didn't because I'm the intercontinental intergender wrestling champion so it wouldn't have went well for them. Music wasnt too loud at all and you have the option to sing karaoke. I was going to give them a lower rating but what changed my decision was the popcorn. It's probably the best on island and it altered my perspective on life and I now must tell everyone about it. Please go in, grab a drink, and try the popcorn; you won't go...

If you're looking for a bar with great service, amazing bartenders, great priced drinks and amazing people, then check out Bernie's! The atmosphere is second to none and if you enjoy singing karaoke from time to time, they have it! Awesome spot to unwind with friends and located very centrally so no matter where you are it's not a far drive. Would recommend this bar to anyone looking...
