I hate to have to leave this review, but my experience today was too disappointing to ignore. When I walked in this morning, I saw multiple people behind the counter, but was not greeted. Everyone looked up, but said nothing. I understood they were busy, so I ignored this and got in line. I ordered 8 donuts, 4 frosted and 4 glazed. I asked that they be separated and was initially assisted with this. A young lady (trainer), then came up from behind to instruct the young man that was helping me (new hire) to leave the boxes open so that she can rang me up. Upon seeing my order, she attempted to take my frosted donuts out of the box and stack them into a styrofoam container. I stopped her and offered to pay for the box, but ultimately I felt extremely uncomfortable with the entire transaction. I personally felt that the training that was taking place in front of me, should have been taken off line and that is was unprofessional to attempt to repackage my donuts at the register. I decided to leave a comment to the owners via square, explaining that I loved their shop and to give them a heads up about the situation. Hours later, I got a call from the one of the owners, which was the icing on the cake! Instead of an apology for my experience, I got told that the new hire did not feel uncomfortable with the way that the trainer spoke with him, and that the trainer was from the city so she moves fast, and was only doing what she was taught. I was told that “she was sort of wrong, but sort of right.” and that going forward she now knows that the additional box fee can be waived, depending on the circumstance. I was never asked to elaborate on how it made me feel as a patron, in fact when I began to tell the owner that I felt that it was handled poorly, she asked me to stop speaking so that she can finish what she had to say. I wanted to tell her that it was not just my experience, as I witnessed an elderly gentleman attempting to avoid this young trainer, and the register all together. This man said “do I have to be helped by her?” And tried to hand the new hire his cash, but the new hire told him that he couldn’t take it. I don’t know what happened and what changed, but I won’t be returning to find out. Very disappointing.
Update prompted by the owners response: An example on what I wanted to hear when I answered my phone— “Hi, I received your message and I want you to know that we take these matters very seriously, I apologize that you left feeling uncomfortable and I will be sure speak with my employees to make sure this never happens again. Next time you come in, ask for me and I will be happy to take care of you. Thank you for your feedback.”
I have no personal vendetta against that young lady. In fact, as you stated it was you who trained her, which now makes perfect sense. Good luck to you and...
Read moreMy daughter and I visited Hole in One Donut for the first time and are very impressed with the high-quality products, rich assortment and amazing customer service. Some places radiate this positive energy just like people do and you can feel it when you are entering the space.
We ordered and let the feast begin. Donuts were so fresh and mouthwatering that we could not decide on what to sample next. I enjoyed Toasted Coconut; my daughter favored Apple Fritter. Donut Holes are unbeatable, make sure to treat yourself and have one at least!
Ms. Janeda, the owner, did not mind helping other small business neighbors and that selfless act of kindness (witnessed and mentally recorded) did not come unnoticed. We started short conversation and found out that Hole in One Donut offers custom made orders; Bay News 9 visited them as well.
“Commit to the LORD whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.” Proverbs 16:3 May God bless this family and new business they opened quite recently!
We returned home, enjoyed family dinner and watched my teenage son devoured his Cinnamon Roll in just a few bites. Later this evening, I overheard him talking to his friend over the phone and complimenting on his dessert. My husband loved Boston Cream and noticed that a filling was remarkably outstanding, nicely balanced, not too sweet at all; as it usually is the case in other places. It was not the last bite of the evening; I tasted a little piece of Red Velvet and was not disappointed. My spouse formally announced that the Hole in One Donuts are the best American donuts he ever had in the past twenty years.
I have enjoyed the gift of giving as well. Offering these delicious donuts to my neighbors, friends and acquaintances proved to be a good idea. All were nicely surprised and appreciated unforgettable taste of donuts baked...
Read moreI have been going here approximately 3-4 times a week for a few years. The reason I give this business 2 stars is because of the MAJOR ATTITUDE from the woman who owns it. Don't get me wrong, the donuts are excellent, coffee is usually really good & the breakfast sandwich decent, considering the price. It's not NYC great, but decent. I have been dealing with the owner's poor attitude too long. Extremely nasty, NOT COMPASSIONATE IN THE LEAST, saw me struggling to open the door coming or leaving with a walker trying to navigate the door. Obviously discrimination against anyone who is fighting hard everyday with a disease. I've given way too much money AND RESPECT to this business after years. I will gladly give my money to dunkin donuts WITHOUT THE SIDE OF ATTITUDE. I have mentioned to various people over the years about her attitude and I almost thought it was just me that she didn't like, NOPE..... NASTY TO MANY, MANY PEOPLE. Because of her poor attitude, she lost a huge account of doing business at the local college. I AM DONE WITH THE NASTINESS. NOT WORTH BEING TALKED DOWN TO CONSTANTLY. I highly suggest going ANYWHERE ELSE. I have ALWAYS been respectful to everyone working there & didn't...
