Twistee Treat Tavares — Restaurant in Tavares

So we stopped for ice cream… Something I looked forward to all night. The open sign was on. We stood at the window for at least 10 minutes and the two girls (blonde and brunette) stared at my husband and I the whole time. I told my husband, I had a strange feeling they would just ignore us. They proved me correct! They didn’t open the window and at that point we walked away. Within that time of walking away, two elderly people walk up and they open the window immediately. How rude!!! Common sense really is lacking, open the window and say something. Tell us if you are open or not, better yet take our order if you are truly open… Who trains you people to work customer service because clearly they didn’t properly train you. Now wonder businesses like this go under, they hire immature, lazy, incompetent employees. Such a shame! I know how management is, they will look at my review and laugh however this is a disgrace. The Twistee Treat in Ocala blows you all out of the water and they have high schoolers running it. The younger generation gets frowned upon because of people like the two girls working tonight. All I wanted was an ice cream and to bring back some memories my husband used to have their with his relative who since passed way. Great way to ruin my night!

The worst experience ever! The teenage girls that waited on me became irritate when I asked for a lid( I had told her while I ordered I needed all to go). They berated me in front of my 6 year old niece by referring to how fat I was! The people sitting behind us were say they got served the wrong ice cream but just ate it because these same girls had a fit when they brought this error to their attention. I asked for my money back and was told by one of the girls she didn't give a care, it wasn't her money. I told her she was rude and a bad representation of the company! She said she hated her job at Twistee Treat, so she could care less if I was unhappy! She proceeded to put my ice creams one at a time in a bag on their side and throw them out the window! People around me were also in shock! I have been here many many times but this visit was my last!!! The only good thing that came out of this visit was a good example to teach my niece to never treat people like that.Last week I went to the new Twistee Treat in Clairmont. After a most difficult work day, I decided to treat myself to an ice cream. Normally this Twistee Treat has good service and the people are polite. Today I waited at the window and no one came. I tapped on the glass and still no show. I looked in and could see the girl on her phone. She was paying no attention and continued to play on her phone. I knocked loudly. Finally got her attention. But she went to get the other girl. The excuse from the other girl was that the girl was new and did not know yet how to dispense ice cream. But she looked like she was well trained on her phone. They took my order which was a medium chocolate cone. The new girl came back with a baby cone. I said that is not a medium cone. She came back with one with a bit more ice cream. Both were very angry and said something under her breath which i could not hear and she wouldn't repeat it. Neither girl had a mask on. Now that I am going over this neither girl had gloves on and when the new one handed me my ice cream it wasn't even wrapped in a napkin as usually done. Hopefully I will not get sick.
