2018(previous owners) We went for a late breakfast. They were very welcoming. Beautiful view of Tawas Bay from the deck. Loved the cute tables outside with umbrellas and the beach decorations. Outside tables can accommodate up to 8 people. Food was pretty good ... just breakfast. It's hard to mess up. We had biscuits and gravy (country gravy, wasn't sausage gravy) with 2 eggs over easy. Also had the Cinnamon-Vanilla dipped French toast. Good stuff. Service was very good and friendly. Prices were reasonable. I posted pics of this year's menu options. I recommend visiting

Far and away, a beautiful view of the lake is a highlight of this cozy establishment. I've only stopped by once. But my wife and her family have visited Tawas City several times over the years. They are fans of fish and chips and Augie's offers delicious food in this category. I'm more of a breakfast guy myself. I enjoyed their options here. But was not blown away (which would have bumped things to a 4-star review). I am definitely open to upgrading my rating upon future visits. This place is worth a try.

Lovely Bay Side Diner open until 2 serving both breakfast and lunch to close. Very nice Bayside viewing from the attached dining room with reasonable pricing for their dishes. My Ruben could have been a bit heartier to my taste, I like a full sandwich. It was good but it could have been a bit bigger to have fries be an additional $3. Hot chocolate was warming and tasteful. I look forward dining at Augie's again soon!

Yuck! My breakfast was nasty! I ordered two eggs medium, sausage links and biscuits and gravy and a large orange juice. My eggs were slurpy, I could have ate them with a straw, my sausage links were boiled not cooked on a griddle and there was hard gristle pieces inside. The biscuits were so hard I could not cut them with a fork and knife I had to stab my fork and break them apart it took forever my carpal tunnel was killing me. When we walked in the door a waitress asked us what would we like to drink(without seeing the menu yet) so we ordered four large orange juices they brought us our orange juice with no ice so I asked for some cups with ice. Orange juice was like any other orange juice, nothing special. We get our bill.... 28$ JUST FOR THE JUICE!!! Why? Because they have a "freshly squeezed orange juice machine" and their customers love it so they say..... Funny that everyone around us had water or coffee..Not orange juice. The owner claims the machine was $7,000. I'm sure by charging 7$ for warm orange juice that machine has been paid off long time ago since all your customers love it SO much. Funny the whole time we were there no one ordered orange juice. Between the food and rude owner, we will never be back and we are telling everyone about our disgusting breakfast, and our $68 bill for some 7$ orange juice, would be different if there was vodka in it, then that price would be fine! 🤣It's becoming a running joke now. Lol I have to say it's pretty crazy when you try to tell the owner an issue you had and they answer rude and are extremely negative. If you notice the Google reviews, they only answer the negative one's, not the positive. They should be thanking the positive. Good luck to...

My family and I come here every time we come up to our cabin. I used to take all of our family and friends here when they would come to stay with us. I would tell everyone it's so good every single time we go. This summer we have been twice, and won't be back nor will I suggest this place any longer. The last two times it has been dirty. Our last visit the waitress was rude. Especially when checking out. She wasn't coming back to our table with our bill, so finally I went up to the counter to cash out. She turned the iPad around right to the tip part and walked away. I had to ask another waitress (who was helpful) to see our receipt. Our actual waitress came back and rudely asked is something wrong? I stated no, I just want to see the receipt. She again asked rudely so does it look correct? I said I'm not sure I'm not done looking it over. Everything was correct, but I feel like for children's orders they should at least include a drink or the meats ($41.00 before tip for an adult and 2 kids). I heard another waitress ranting over their special coffee made just for their establishment. I went to the counter to ask for regular sugar for my coffee and their response was our shipment hasn't come. If you're serving specialty coffee I would suggest going down the road to Walmart or even across the street and buying a bag of sugar until your shipment comes. I'm super bummed this place has went downhill. It's a great location on the water, but the place is dirty, rude staff, and the food was very mediocre. We unfortunately will...

Waited an hour and a half for food for our waitress to tell us how sorry she was but she forgot to put our order in. We agreed to wait and when when we did get it 45 minutes later, I had ordered an order of sausage and gravy and biscuits did not get that when I finally got a hold of our waitress to tell her that I hadn’t received this sausage gravy and biscuits. She said she was so sorry she would bring it right out she bought the gravy out and before I could say anything she was gone so needless to say I didn’t get my biscuits. I received one biscuit that was burnt. It just was the worst on our waitress behalf and cook went up to pay the bill. I had two waitresses walking in front of the register back to the kitchen, but not one of them would stop to wait on me. Your other customer standing there to observe this, it was a party of eight and that guy said we’re out of here. This is terrible. Finally I spoke up and said could you take my money so I can pay my bill 20 minutes later oh sure I’ll be right with you. five minutes later, he said if I can’t get somebody to take my bill so I can pay for my food. I’m walking out at your cost so one of the waitresses came right back and said oh I’m so sorry. We are so busy and my response was and I’m so sorry also that I won’t be back. Thoroughly disappointed and disgusting with the way we were treated in our service....
