Tony's Tacos — Restaurant in Tawas City

A taco shop on the beach in a small, northern Michigan town. Hmm, it just seems to be the perfect fit. This was my first time stopping at Tony's Tacos, in Tawas, Michigan. I stopped at the recommendation of a good friend. I'm glad he told me about this place because they have the perfect location, the perfect little taco "hut," and the best Street Tacos I've ever had. They are small, so get the three pack. I ordered the hot (calientè) Street Tacos; they had great flavor but were actually quite mild for my taste. I think my mother mighty have been able to eat these without too much discomfort (she didn't even like black pepper!) When you are in, or even just traveling through Tawas, Michigan, take the time to stop and get a bite at Tony's Tacos, even if you're not totally hungry. You will be glad you did! We went there on the 4th of July 2024. We ordered street tacos, a quesadilla, a Tostada nachos and cheese, and a soft taco. The food was just awful, tasteless and dry Minus the steak street taco. The chips and cheese was the worst. The chips were super stale And you got clumps of cheese on the chips, not even layere. The tostada Did not even come with sour cream or salsa. Stopped here on our way to take my son to camp because of the reviews and since it was on the water thought it’d be authentic Mexican food. Meat was very bland, chips were very salty and the round yellow corn chips not very good, and portion sizing was small.
