Great small place with friendly service
My visit was on a Monday Morning at 8:00. I was given my choice of seating of which I took a small booth. My waitress was very prompt. As soon as I sat down I was offered coffee, and there where menus in pockets along the wall. I chose the Philips Special. It came with basically two of everything. (Eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes, toast.) It came within 15 minutes of ordering. My coffee cup NEVER got less than 1/2 full as the waitress was always making rounds through the tables. She was very outgoing and seemed to know all the customers by name. I like that. When my breakfast came she even offered another plate for me to put my pancakes on if I so desired. All the food was great. One of the best places I have been downriver and there have been a lot. Good job Philips You are definitely an original This was my first time here but it never felt that way. .
Atmosphere Located on Ecorse Road, across from Applebees in Taylor Mi. Thet have both booths and tables to sit at. It had a great homey feel. Various sports memorabilia on the walls but it didn’t feel like a sports place. It felt like a restaurant that might be owned by a family member or friend. It was a bit dated inside but that only added to the charm.
Noise Level Quiet. Normal talking levels.
Meal Philips Special $4.49 this includes Two Eggs, Two strips of Bacon, Two sausages, Two pancakes,Toast (2 pieces) Coffee $2.09 Total $7.00
Wheelchair Access The restaurant is at street level, seating is at normal levels. No specific Handicap parking. Entrance has a vestibule making wheelchair use trying.
My Rating: 2 1/2 Stars Ratings range from zero to four stars. Zero is poor, One star, good. Two stars, very good. Three stars, excellent. Four stars, extraordinary (almost...

I come to Phillips as often as I am able too and yesterday and today's trips were a real treat. All of the food here is delicious but I happened to inquire what kind of soup they had and discovered their Homemade Bean Soup. It is ABSOLUTELY some of the BEST that I have EVER had lin my entire life. I had some yesterday and also took some home for later and I also had some more today. Taylor's best kept secret continues to amaze. Come try for yourself.

It's a small place but the food is definitely delicious, the staff are very friendly, and you are made to feel the "family" atmosphere. And, in these frugal times, you will find the prices are very reasonable. I feel like it's one of Taylor's best kept secrets, yet it's been here for as long as I can remember. My family have been eating here going all the way back to a time when my kids were little. And now my youngest is 25, so they have definitely earned a local following. I always enjoy stopping for my breakfast whenever I am in the area. But they have good lunch and early dinner options as well. Try out the Chopped Steak 🥩 Dinner with Mushrooms, Mashed Potatoes and Gravy, Salad, and a cooked Vegetable all for under $15.00. Man it's so delicious 😋 🤤. And for all of you first timers, take a moment to check out all of the AMAZING Historical photos on the walls. They have a vast assortment that will bring back some very fond and PRECIOUS 💞💕 memories. They also have carry out and you can phone ahead if you want to pick it up and go. You can park on all sides of the restaurant. And masks are optional at this...
