Taystee's Burgers — Restaurant in Taylor

Food was good and place was clean, but the customer relations and operations left a bit to be desired based upon my experiences. I visited for the first time on 9/16/23 at about 3:30. The employee who took my order was initially very kind and friendly when I ordered.

I was given my order of a couple burgers and fries by a different employee. When I arrived back at my car, I realized the order was incorrect, and I returned to tell them I was given the wrong order. I was given quite a bit of grief by the original employee as he threw out the order and complained about having to remake it. Turns out I had misheard the name they called. I apologized and was given some additional grief from the employee for mishearing, which was unnecessary.

While I did hear the name wrong and that’s on me, there weren't any checks in the process to prevent this from happening. I was not given either a paper receipt or an order number when I ordered to verify. The room is also huge with high ceilings and quite loud, so it's easy to mishear when an employee isn't projecting their voice 30 feet or so away. Fryers are going and people are having conversations. The employee also did not confirm who I was once I walked up, she just gave the order to me after hearing the name from a distance, despite me being clearly the opposite gender from the name on the order I mistakenly took. The receipt showing what was in the bag was also not stapled to the bag or on the top in the bag, it was at the bottom. So, I had already opened both the bag and the items by the time I could tell there was a mix-up. If Taystee had taken any one of these steps (that most other businesses have in place) they could have easily prevented this mix-up.

Beyond improving the process though, I think Taystee should encourage employees to have a bit more respect for customers and understand that mistakes happen, it’s a two way street. Where do I begin?

Customer service? If I could give a 100/10, I would. The employees are always so kind and go the extra mile in accommodating my picky taste! The Islam Special, iykyk, is absolutely delicious.

The ranch is SPECTACULAR. It’s made FRESH, in-house, and unlike anything on the market. If you don’t know what to get- the fry bowl will never do you wrong.

Atmosphere is spic and span, & the cutlery and napkins are always stocked.

Overall, this Taystee’s location is the BEST! I stop by often and get dinner for the family, and I’m never waiting long, even though we’ll order 5+ fry bowls at a time. 100/10 stars.
