About a month ago I visited this Tropical Smoothie Cafe for the first time. This was the first time I've ever been to a Tropical Smoothie Cafe. Every time I've went, I waited a while. So if you are in a hurry, you will have to wait. The first time I ordered a smoothie it came out well blended and creamy. It tasted good, no complaints. The second time I went, I ordered a different smoothie and it was pretty good. Well blended and creamy. No complaints. The last 2 visits I made however were very disappointing. The third time I went, I ordered a smoothie. I waited a while as I knew I would. Paid for my drink, pulled forward, looked at my drink and it looked diluted and slushy. I took a sip of it and it tasted horrible. I turned back around on Telegraph to get back in line. When I got to the order screen, I told the employee that my Smoothie tasted funny and that I would like it remade. The employee was polite, I reordered my drink and when I got it, it tasted like it did the first 2 visits I made. It was well blended, not watery and slushy. The fourth and last time I went last weekend was a blow out. I ordered the same drink I did the previous visit. Employee gave me my drink. I took a drink right at the window and it was watery, diluted and slushy. She reopened the window and I asked her politely if I could have this remade. I told her it was very watery, slushy and didn't taste right. She took the lid off in front of me and looked at it. She steps away from the window comes back in less then a minute and hands me my same drink, same cup. I asked her what she did to my drink? She said she added some water to it! I told her again politely I want this remade. I finally got a remade smoothie, and it tasted like it was supposed to. I will say that the employees were polite, however the last one was an odd way to handle correcting an order. Adding water to a slushy, diluted, poor tasting drink makes absolutely no sense.. Furthermore, I did not see staff wearing masks the last 3 times I went. Ill give this location one more chance. If I get a smoothie like the last 2, I suppose I will go to another location. A family member frequents the one in Allen Park and says his smoothies come out consistently the same. He mentioned a friend of his has been to the Taylor location and she has received poor quality smoothies that she described identical to the the last 2...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I are huge lovers of Tropical Smoothie Cafe and I'm also a big app user and returning Customer. However, this location was the WORST EXPERIENCE we have ever had. We visited this location last night after placing an order ahead order at 8:17pm. It said our order would be ready at 8:35pm and we were there by 8:30pm, typical right? Wrong, we first tried to go into the store and they had both doors locked, before 9! So, ultimately our only option was to sit through the drive through, which was full of cars (the reason we ordered ahead so we could avoid this.) We sat in that line for over 40 minutes!! They took about 15 minutes to even take each persons order at the speaker, then another 10 before we watched each person receive their food. We drove past the speaker due to the fact that we already ordered. When we got up to the window, one girl saw us and didn't even greet us at the window!!! Then we watched TWO more girls walking around in the store and not one of them greeted us, either. We waited for over 10 minutes at the window. By the time we were greeted we were so disappointed at the experience we said we no longer wanted the smoothies and just wanted a refund. Because by then our smoothies were already sitting for over 30 minutes and we didn't want to wait any longer while they took another 10 minutes to remake them. Then, the young lady said I would have to call the store tomorrow for a manager to issue my refund. Which, now after attempting to call corporate there is no one for me to speak with directly. And I've been trying to call this location for my refund and the phone keeps saying it's busy. This was the WORST customer service in the food industry I has ever experienced. I used to be a manager myself at a similar food chain and this is NOT at all how you handle customers and serve them. This was very upsetting and very unprofessional. The worker didn't even seem sincere and never apologized, she just kept saying "okay." Go the extra miles to a better location with higher reviews and save yourself the trouble of this location. Read moreIgnore the silly username I made to leave this review, I am a real person but I just visited this location and I am absolutely appalled at the way management runs this place. This is my first negative review, I never take the time to complain but there needs to be serious change at this location.
It’s dirty, there are employees sucking on smoothies behind the counter walking around, waited forever to even be acknowledged, 3 employees came to the cash register I was standing at and did not help me.
Finally, I asked for my online order and they bring 2 smoothies. I had two wraps, chips and an apple slaw in the order as well and they didn’t have it. Two girls start screaming across the room at each other for the order and the one gets annoyed and starts making it.
They come shove a bag in my face, still not with the chips or slaw. I ask about those and she said she has to go make one, helps the girl at the drive through first for 3 minutes and then goes to make the rest of the order.
Get home and both wraps are wrong. After much debate, my girlfriend decided to just take them back. What she got was a bunch of attitude and a refusal to replace the other wrap because she said it was the right order it just didn’t have the pineapple it was supposed to have on it. As far as I’m concerned if it’s missing one of the key ingredients, than it is not the correct order.
My girlfriend said she would just pay for a new one because she didn’t feel like dealing with it and the lady said nothing, walked back and started remaking the one wrap they agreed was completely wrong. Comes up and my girlfriend asked: did you make the other wrap? Chelsea the worker here said “No you don’t get the other one, it wasn’t wrong” my girlfriend then repeated that she was willing to just pay for the other one after more attitude Chelsea went back and made the wrap.
Overall, insanely apprehensible behavior and an awful experience for someone who eats at tropical smoothie literally five times a week at least.
