Gyro King — Restaurant in Teaneck Township

This is my first time visiting a Gyro King , and won't be the last.

They just opened up their #3 location here in Teaneck, NJ. I've drove by numerous time in the past wondering when the restaurant will open up and that day has finally arrived!

There is a small parking lot off to the side, and street parking are also available.

Restaurant is very bright, clean, and welcoming. The service staff who took my order gave many recommendations, extremely helpful, and efficient. Easily one of the best customer service experiences I have had. They work so fast!! I was in and out with my order in less than 5min.

I ordered a falafel salad plated and a Lamb salad platter, each were $7+ tax!! No joke! Select your protein for the salad platter and then you may choose your desired toppings... and they are generous with the portions. My falafels were deep fried on the spot, and not fried in advance. My falafels where hot and crisp even after driving home because I order my food to go.

FOOD is DELICIOUS. Rice cooked perfectly! Everything made in house and FRESH. Plus, the tzatziki tastes AMAZING. I could have easily made two meals out of my falafel platter with the generous portions. Hubby was extremely satisfied with the lamb platter. Meat is cooked perfectly and well seasoned.

Restaurant seatings are available but I ordered mine to go. I can't wait to visit them again. Next time I will bring my Hubby along so he gets to build his own platter and then we will dine in. And I’d like to try their salmon special platter.

food is decent but they have shady business practice, ie i did made and order over the phone, i ordered the tikka with rice, 5 piece chicken and a regular chicken platter, the person who answered kept rushing to get as if they were busy or didn't want to talk, and usually after you order they give you the total, but they hung up before i could ask, i get there and had to wait a bit because the chicken wasn't ready, i left and went back in to collect my food the total was about 23dollars and they gave me the 5 piece chicken and the tikka platter, and i realized that after i paid, on the website their prices are lower and they charge you for a higher price in store, essentially you'll have to pay whatever price they have in store, which is about a 5$ difference for each item ordered and even so they still forgot one of my orders, terrible customer service , at one point the guy on the grill tried to make a deal with me but a that point it was too late, i ended up paying 10$ for subpar re-fried chicken and 12$ for the gyro king chicken tikka special, update your menu, and respect the people who keep your...

I did a Google search and Gyro King comes up. So I said this must be the real deal. and love Gyros with the Pita bread and Taziki Sauce (I hope I spelled Taziki sauce correctly). For starters, the meat was not on the turning burners but instead in the food cart with the rest of the ingredients. Should have walked because I was trying to be polite. This was not a real Gyro I thought. I asked the guy who does not even cook, but only prepared the food and works the register. He gives me his version of Gyro and it looks just like a "Mexican Torta de Lengua". Again, I told him that is not a Gyro, he said it's the best and I would love it. Stupid me, I paid for the food and ate it there. The meat was diced and chopped and tasted cold. The Tasiki sauce was watered down. Very disappointed, I ate it because in my parents house we never throw or waste food. So, I am sharing this honest review with you. Bathroom was dirty and no hand soap. The door has a sign bathroom out of service. I don't need to use any restaurant bathroom, but any establishment should have a clean bathroom so you can wash your hands...
