Updating from two years ago: Sasha is STILL.THE.BEST!! This is not an exaggeration: Sasha is the best dance teacher I have ever had (and Iâve had a bunch). Why, you ask? Because:
a) she CARES. She cares about her students. She cares about the partners her students dance with. She cares about dance, itself.
b) sheâs TALENTED. Sheâs such a pleasure to dance with! Sheâs 19 times my skill (understatement!!), and when I dance with her, itâs like all sheâs doing is making me look good. Oh, and TEACHING me at the same time. Amazing.
c) sheâs SMART. She knows the challenges weâre going to have before we have them, and she knows how to address them. She not only teaches steps and patterns, but she teaches philosophy of dance. Philosophy of partner work. Obi-Wan KeSasha. And it works!
d) sheâs ENCOURAGING and motivating. Some of us are going to learn faster than others, and Sasha will be with us, all of us, every step of the way. She pushes, just the right amount, so weâre stretching beyond our comfort zone, somewhere she knows weâre ready for, even if we donât know it ourselves.
Sashaâs enthusiasm energizes everyone around her.
A suggestion: take ONE class, come to ONE practice. Youâll experience the difference, and youâll never look back.
Case in point: last week I had a super hard emotional time at a salsa congress. I donât know of any other teacher who would have given me the level of insight, pep-talk, wisdom, time, love, attention, and understanding as Sasha did. It and she are...
Read moreI have the pleasure of taking dance classes with Sasha, who is not only a great teacher, but also an incredible dancer herself, with many years of experience. Her passion for dance and music is easily perceived during the first few minutes of the first class. Her warmth and contagious enthusiasm, in combination of her teaching style, create a joyful learning environment, while making an efficient use of our time together. Being a busy person myself, I highly value that she utilizes every minute of the hour teaching methodically a variety of steps and moves with grace while being very accommodating to my schedule requests in a timely manner. Besides the dancing guidance at the studio, she also goes the extra mile encouraging me to practice at home by creating a video and writing down the new steps incorporated during that particular lesson, which is an extremely helpful tool. It's like having personalized homework that enhances my progress. I highly recommend Sasha as teaching instructor to anybody who wants to learn to dance in a warm and supportive atmosphere. Her lessons are...
Read moreHey there! My husband and I are not very much a party people and never danced before. However, last New Yearâs Eve we were thinking about going to the party ..but quickly realized , it is not going to be that fun, simply because we donât dance. At that time I went across Gift of Dance and texted Sasha: âTwo middle aged people with âfour left feetâđ want to learn how to dance đ ! Do you think it is possible? Sasha promptly responded and invited us to the beginners class. We are still relatively new to the class. Little by little we learn something new at every class. Must admit, we donât practice that much at home, but going to the class makes us practice there! Sasha is a phenomenal teacher! Always happy to see her. She brings great energy to every class and we can feel that she really loves teaching others how to dance đș and enjoy it!! We would definitely recommend Gift of Dance Studio to everyone who just wants to get off the couch and start moving! Great teacher, wonderful atmosphere! Come and see! Thank you...
