Ichiban — Restaurant in Tehachapi

No dine-in because of Covid, and that’s fine. Peeped my head in the door and asked for a menu and ordered and waited in the car. Waitress brought the order out to me and I’m off on my way home. 25 minutes later (because that’s how long it takes me to drive home) and I notice that I’m missing a hand roll. So I call the business and the waitress confirmed that there was a hand roll sitting on the counter still. She Wanted to know if I was coming to get it. I thought to myself (you never put the roll in the fridge once you noticed it didn’t make it in the bag) I told the girl no I wouldn’t be coming in to pick it up if she could just refund my card the difference. She said no she can’t but was willing to give me an IOU for the hand roll. Ok no problem. However the review I’m giving it a 2 star Because Waited outside (not allowed in the restaurant) nobody came so I poked my head inside and the waitress was on her phone texting. I had to ask her if she could take my order. Ordered from a menu without pictures. Sorry folks but I want to see what it is I’m ordering. I’ve never eaten here before so I had no idea what I was getting. Missing a roll from my order Couldn’t give me a refund The rolls looked terrible. Sorry but Albertsons sushi looks better and tastes better. For what I received the product is way over priced. I’ll spend about $100 to eat at a sushi restaurant. I also have high expectations. As a broke college student, I fully support this Tehachapi blessing! Sometimes you get tired of McDonald's and del taco for lunch all the time, so when my best friend suggested sushi, I was extremely excited, and hungry. We got there and were immediately seated and brought water. Then, we both reluctantly opened our menus in search of food that would satisfy our hunger, AND not blow our monthly budget....but as I scanned the wide variety of sushi roll options, I was pleasantly surprised! Everything was priced extremely affordably, and there wasn't a shortage in portion size either! We ordered vegetable egg rolls(a 4 count), a spicy tuna roll, and California roll(both 8 peices each) we both finished completely satisfied and ended up splitting a bill of only 17.50! Never have I found such a great sushi restaurant with this much affordability! We will absolutely be back to try...

My family said the sushi was average good. I couldn’t judge the quality of the food because they NEVER brought me my order. I ordered along with my family and after they were basically done eating I asked a guy that was working there if he could check my order. He never came back to say anything however kept bringing dishes to a large family that arrived after we did. I waited and asked our server who came back saying the kitchen had a larger order before mine!!! How???? We had been there for a good 25-30 min already. She said she didn’t know how the kitchen was working the orders and there wasn’t anything she could pretty much do. Absolutely irresponsible and not caring. They gave us a 10% discount for the “inconvenience”. Would not recommend this place at all after the careless response...
