Recently, my teammate and I decided to meet up at this spot for a team meeting, hoping for a good experience. The place had a great vibe, with a nice atmosphere that we thought would be perfect for getting some work done. However, things quickly took a turn when my friend was greeted with a disapproving, almost condemning look from one of the baristas. It was clear she wasn’t too welcoming, and it made him visibly uncomfortable. I was right next to him, and I could feel the tension too. We seriously considered leaving, but our other teammate was already waiting for us in one of the rooms at the back.
I’ve heard mixed things about this place before. Another customer shared her experience, saying that when she spoke to the same barista, Amie Pierone, the barista just turned around and acted like she didn’t hear her, leaving the customer standing there stunned. Another guest had to wait an unnecessarily long time just for a simple black coffee. It’s a shame, because the environment is nice, but that one person definitely leaves a bad taste in the mouth.
I still like the location itself, but honestly, it’s tough to focus on work when you’re worried about dealing with unexpected, uncomfortable moments like this. There are other spots in the area that provide the same atmosphere but with much better service and a friendlier vibe. It’s unfortunate, because I was hoping this place could be a...
Read moreRegular here. I brought my coffee-enthusiast friend and he was very impressed by the quality of the brew: the owners are very skilled baristas. They have an interesting array of savory syrups, like rosemary and sage, that actually pair quite well with the coffee. These are specially made for the shop by a local producer and you can't find them anywhere else. Pretty much everything is locally-sourced, actually: what pastries they don't make come from a local producer, their coffee is roasted locally, and their amazing tea selection is supplied by a local blender of teas (there are some excellent and unique blends in their repertoire, plus caffeine-free options for those avoiding it). The shop is located inside a century-old house, and the décor reflects this nicely, leaning toward a domestic and natural angle. To round everything off, the music playing in the background is hand-selected by the owners and succeeds in maintaining a good atmosphere for conversation and study, without ever getting distracting. An excellent spot for anyone wanting to...
