Otto Pizza — Restaurant in Tempe

I got 2 slices of pizza. The pizza itself was okay although I’m not even sure if they warmed it up or if it was just sitting there. The slices were a normal size. For 2 slices of cheese pizza it was $6 something.

The lady that gave it to me didn’t even have eye contact with me. I definitely didn’t get friendly vibes. I was disappointed in how the pizza was served and it wasn’t really hot. It was basically lukewarm. So if you’re going just for the food I’d give it a 3 out if 5.

It wasn’t the worst pizza place but the food being average yet a little over priced coupled with the lack of friendly employees. It was the weirdest way I’ve ever been given food as she didn’t even make eye contact. So when you factor that into average but overpriced food, I give them 2 1/2 stars.

As far as the quality of the pizza goes if they had reached out to me and offered to make it right, I would’ve been open to trying fresh pizza.it was a little past noon when I went in so I assumed it was fresh. I didn’t think to ask if it was fresh because it’s kind of an assumption I guess. To be fair I only tried the cheese pizza. It wasn’t awful and could’ve probably gone from 3 to 4 stars if it was fresher. I don’t know about any of their other foods.

I first discovered Otto Pizza & Pastry in 2021. One of my former coworkers from Whole Foods, located across the street, recommended it, and he said he really enjoyed it. After he described the place, I tried it for myself.

Otto Pizza & Pastry is among the most incredible pizza places in Tempe. Everything on the pizza tastes fresh, and I particularly enjoy the sauce's flavor. It gives you a nice burst of tomato flavor. They also have great calzones, pastas, sandwiches, and pastries. I have had their cheesecake, and it is some of the best cheesecake I have ever had.

The service is friendly and helpful. They are happy to offer any of their best-selling menu items and to ensure you have everything you need.

I also like the atmosphere of the place. It is a pleasant, quiet atmosphere where you can enjoy your food while watching TV, with the television on top of the refrigerator, which also houses the pastries.

I highly recommend Otto Pizza & Pastry to anyone seeking a great pizza place in Tempe. It is one of the more underrated pizza places, and it deserves more respect.

My experience at this pizzeria was overall a very positive one. While my cashier was in training, her preceptor was very respectful and guided her in delivering a positive first experience. I ordered one slice of pizza with sausage and ricotta cheese along with a soda. The total price was $6.58. The slice of pizza came out within appx 5 minutes and was delicious. While the price was a tad high (in comparison to a whole pizza from Costco for $9.99…but don’t get me wrong this was tastier 😋) for one 2 topping slice and a drink, I would come back to support this small business as the experience and friendly service made it all the worth while.

The only suggestion I have is as a customer I loveeee cheese and there was only one parmesan cheese container that was a quarter full. There was plenty of pepper though 😅
