I was hoping to leave a great review but there was nothing good to share :( 1st the hotel charge $15 for parking which is fine IF they have a parking space. We arrived in the evening and had to drive around over 20min looking for parking hoping someone would leave, thankfully somebody finally left and we were able to park but finding parking at a hotel should never be an issue especially if they’re charging. When we got to our room, the door was propped OPEN someone had turned the lock across the top to keep the door open…. After checking the room out it seemed safe so we stayed. We then noticed garbage (some wrapper) under the pillow headboard. Under a couch pillow was a used VAP PEN ….barf…. We didn’t even have to pull the couch out to find it. It was literally just under a small throw pillow. The vent on the bathroom was seeping Dust and the bath soap dispensers were covered in build up, dust and hair …. When we were going to bed the mirror next to the bed almost fell on me, it was not screwed into the wall anymore so it was just propped up ready to tip over . We used the elevator to come and go from the 2nd floor and from the time we arrive until we checked out at 11am it was so dirty! Cereal and crumbs smashed up all over the floor, I wish someone could have just ran a quick vacuum or something in there. We put the do not disturb sign on the door but Around 8:50am house keeping came knocking to clean anyway WAYYYY before checkout and my sign was on the door. So much for sleeping in… We stay in Tempe often for my husbands marathons or my sons soccer games but we definitely will not be able to stay here again, nor can we recommend it to anyone.

This review is for front desk stuff Julissa(black glasses, yellow hair. She deserves this score. She refused check me in with a very rude manner. I booked on Expedia and it's Non-changeable and non-refundable. So this cost me 100 dollars and made me feel particularly disrespected. The reason is no physical credit card. She claimed that their policy required the use of physical cards but actually their policy only mentions the need debit cards or credit card but does not said physical cards. This is her policy. Their machine can do apple pay but she don't let me do it. I have the photo of my credit card and it is exactly same name as my id. I said even you got the physical card you still need put the information to check in, why don't you just put the number. She said she can't. I'm traveling in Phoenix for 5 days, she's the only one refused check me in without a physical card. That day is very late, I can't found any place near here. We talked for about one hour. But no matter what I said, she wouldn't let me check in. But she asked some questions. Like do I have a physical id, is the card name same with id.. I answered yes but in the end, she still refused to let me check in. If these cannot change your mind, then why do you ask? I think she was just looking for an excuse to refuse check me in. Also she She mentioned that Expedia and their policy mentioned the physical card but actually both nothing was said. This indicates that she didn't even attempt to understand.

Definately one of my favorite Mariotts near Mill Avenue. I like the new renovation and there are USB plugs everywhere in the room. They have a decent fitness room, outdoor seating everywhere, and when it cools off they will turn on the fire pit for all to gather. Beware parking is limited so if you get a spot it might not be there when you return. The daily rate is $12 and they have a lot on the west side of the building as well. Make sure you get tokens from the front office or you will not be able to exit the lot. They have a small bistro open in the morning and evening, there is no continental breakfast here. One think I like is the lounge had an assortment of board games. The pool was clean and a decent size for the property. Oh and bring your own bottle water unless you're ok with paying $4 a bottle.

I’m going to start with the location is fantastic! The staff is awful! Our first day there we went to check in for 4 nights and both wanted to cover the hotel they took both our cards and charged my friend for two nights then nothing on my card I asked why and they said “oh well it automatically charges you the third night for the other two” I was like okay no problem. But I did let them know I have fraud protection so if they try to charge me in the middle of the night it will for sure decline my bank will call me and wake me up. They said no problem that won’t happen we get settled and in the middle of the night my friend is charged out of nowhere an additional 198 dollars for the two nights that were suppose to go on my card. In the morning we go downstairs and the front desk lady said she reversed the charges and switched the charge to my account and I let her know again if it’s gonna go through in the middle of the night I need warning so I can approve it my bank doesn’t process charges over $100 in the middle of the night without approval. She said “absolutely no problem that won’t happen” then the second night at 4am I am woken up by the hotel trying to charges $300 I went downstairs to find out why and I was told they are charging another deposit too mind you I already paid $250 deposit two days ago and that doesn’t match what they tried to charge the night before either which was the agreed amount. Then I went downstairs at 4am to sort this out and the girl was sitting at the front desk with her legs kicked up on the counter and the water machine empty in this desert hotel. She didn’t even see me till I said something to her. She looked up and I explained the entire situation and that I was woken up by a call at 4am after y’all said that wouldn’t happen to a random charge that’s almost double what I was suppose to pay. She literally called the GM who said wow that sucks then you’re gonna have to check out. I am going back again in a few hours to see if ANYone else can help I called corporate and when I told the customer service agent what happened he said he didn’t believe me essentially. So if you’d like a relaxing vacation you can actually enjoy not filled with headaches and terrible service then please stay elsewhere! Also the pool is pee warm. I’m gonna have to check out and sit in my car for hours waiting for a new hotel because they are actively choosing to do...

WORST HOSPITALITY IN THE HISTORY OF HOTELS! I WILL NEVER GIVE SONESTA ANOTHER DOLLAR AFTER THE 3RD REICH TREATMENT I RECEIVED HERE. A simple request for a manager turns an insecure dimwit into the gestapo. Upon our arrival for the evening there were no parking spots available so we were told we could park in the adjacent parking garage. Only thing about that is the lot won't let you park for more than there are hours left in that day. So we would therefore have to readjust our time after midnight. I found this unacceptable and asked to speak with a manager when Nathan's insecure, dimwitted, egotistical self decides to insert himself into a conversation he was NOT involved in. After a brief back and forth with this nincompoop he says that I yelled at him, which I did not. I'm a MAN and I sound like a man. I understand this child minded fool doesn't know what a man sounds like but to get into a back and forth about if I yelled or not was classic female gaslighting. I gave him an example of what I sound like yelling by saying "this is yelling" loudly. Still not even a yell coming from me. At this point the insecure Nathan says he's going to have to now call security. Incredible. I wish I had his job. Where I could be absolutely useless, disrespect the guests and then threaten them with security instead of actually doing something to help the customer. Both Nathan and whoever hired him should be fired! I travel for work and spend three quarters of the year in hotels. The rooms were nice but knowing that Sonesta likes to employ incompetent insecure idiots will guarantee I never stay here again. I'll also be advising all my coworkers the same as well as the travel ball teams my kid plays...

When we were first contemplating the trip I read many many many reviews, some good and some not so good. I have to admit I was nervous about the quality of the accomodations due to the reviews. However, please read my review carefully as experience has shown me that this accomodation was very nice. Rooms were clean and fresh, the front desk staff and commons area staff were accomdating and pleasant. The reviews about noise, do not believe them, this is one of the quietest hotels I've ever stayed at even considering the proximity to the airport, we never heard a single plane noise. It is apparent that many many flight crews are housed here as it is literally only a 5 minute ride from the airport, so it is apparent there isturnover in the rooms. Our room was clean and fresh upon arrival. The room was well set up. The rooms are thoroughly cleaned every 4 days, but if you need something immediately or want a freshen up between, the desk is more than accomdating to have someone come and take care of it and the cleaning staff are always checking on you in the in between days! The food in the commons, while a bit more money than eating anywhere else, was open at 6:30 and the food was tasty, so when you are not wanting to wait till 7 or later to eat, you can get coffee and food right away. We used the laundry room and it was clean and well taken care of.

We never once felt that staff were unfriendly, unaccommodating or rude. We never once had a complaint about our room or its cleanliness or the service. Every staff member had a smile, a welcome and a friendly hello.

In short, should we be in Tempe again, we will stay here.

Have a...
