Yucca Tap Room — Restaurant in Tempe

One of the worst experiences I've ever had at a bar. Because Yucca is set up with a couple of different rooms, there is some separation between the tap room, show room and pinball room. However, this is no excuse for the staff to be rude and belligerent. I had been moving freely between the various rooms all afternoon, and after playing a few pinball games, found myself waiting for a drink in the pinball Tiki room. After getting my drink and going back to meet my friends in the tap room, as I had done multiple times before, I was told I could not move between rooms with a drink and had to pay a cover charge to enter the exact same room I had been in multiple times. Staff were rude and condescending that I didn't know about this because it was "all over our social media." I do not use social media and had been allowed to move between rooms all day, so this was unexpected. Staff member asked "what the EXPLETIVE I was doing when I was trying to find my friends, and didn't even try to understand that I was confused why I couldn't enter a room I had entered multiple times today. Oh my goodness. We just had an awful experience. We really wanted to love this place cuz the food was sooo good and the beer selection was great. However, our bartender was horrible. She was not friendly, and not once acknowledged us nor smiled. We are super easy going and understanding, but no matter how many times we tried to smile at her or say thank you, she didn't even acknowledge us or even smile. It was super uncomfortable. We decided to leave after spending almost $100, and would have spent a hell of a lot more, but we didn't want to spend another dollar in a place where we weren't appreciated. I asked for water along with my very first order, as well as multiple other times and never got it. We finally got the water after we paid and my husband refused to leave until he got me water. I waited outside and he brought it out for me and we were harassed for bringing water outside because it was considered an open container. Which is not accurate as it was a clear plastic cup. I’m not usually one to post reviews, but had such an appalling experience that I had to share. We had come to the Yucca Tap Room to play some pinball later at night. One of the members in our party was denied entry because he had left his ID. Understandable, not a problem. We walked out of the venue after already showing our IDs and gaining entry so that we could talk to the friend that wasn’t allowed in. After a minute or so, we walked back in, or tried to at least. Security said nothing to me, but demanded that my friend showed his ID again. Truthfully, my friend might have been a little snippy or rude in his response, but he was also just checked two minutes ago. The security guard did not like that. So much so that he kicked my friend out and immediately shoved him and put him in a headlock while multiple people around him told him to stop.
