We visited this restaurant last Monday for dinner take-out. The customer service was less than mediocre but, the person cooking that night was on point.
On Friday 10/2/21, after being indecisive about dinner, we chose to go back to El Señor de Los Tacos around 7:45p for take-out and this was the worst decision we could have made.
Both times we waited entirely too long. But the second time we visited, the young lady took our order, then said, "Your order will be ready in 43 minutes."
Wait...WHAT??
We were starving!! And stood there in shock for several seconds conflicted to ask for our money back and to go somewhere else. The person taking our order should have told us the wait time was so long PRIOR to taking our money.
Both times we felt rushed by the people taking our order. As apart of our order, we chose the birria and my fiancé nicely asked if they would make sure they put the dipping sauce that goes with it in the bag this time because they did not give us the dipping sauce the previous time we ate there.
She replied, "The dipping sauce only comes with the birria MEAL and not with a single birria."
Again, Wait.... WHAT? If there is no dipping sauce, that's just an expensive "taco", in which, I did not want. So, I ordered the meal. My fiance placed his order and asked to purchase chips and queso. She advised they give us chips and "salsa" with our order. Confused and not really understanding why she wouldn't want us to place an order for queso, he just said, "Okay."
The total cost of our meal was ridiculous for what we later found when we arrived at home to eat. The chips and salsa was NOT in the bag and the food tasted NOTHING like it did on Monday.
The beef and the dipping sauce for the birria was bland with NO seasoning. The dipping sauce literally tasted like water. The beef lacked any seasoning and tasted like it had been boiled. It was not good. Needless to say, my fiancé was not impressed with his food either. He ordered the nachos that, from looks alone, were not good. The meat was burned, it had very little cheese, and 2 slivers of avocado on top instead of guacamole. He said the whole thing was just dry.
I don't know if this was just a bad night for them or if their supplies were low, but our order and wait time was an indication that something was wrong and sadly, we will not be going back.
PS: The best part of this story is while we waited 43 minutes for our food and after not eating since breakfast, we visited the food truck to the left of the restaurant. (Tacos Gone Mobile) where we each had one taco with fries. The food was fresh, hot and ready within minutes and...
Read moreThey serve cold tacos, poor customer service, and they work slow. When I came in i seen a guy walk up to the counter and place his taco on the counter stating it was cold. He didn’t say it rude but the workers at the front barely acknowledged it and just threw it away without offering another one. I waited near 35 minutes for three tacos and one birria taco when there was barely anyone in there and the two people at the front were working slow and had obvious attitudes, they clearly did not want to be there and were talking amongst themselves and on their phones while people sat and waited and stared at them. Some people were waiting for chips and salsa which is premade at the front. They instead would talk amongst themselves go to the bathroom instead of serving it. When I got my food the taco meat was tasteless the green sauce has a weird taste and I didn’t get any consome for my birria taco. I would recommend go to the other taco places on fletcher, there are many. I guess because this is a new spot people are coming to check it out but don’t waste your money. I grew up around Mexican food and can genuinely say the food here is bland. My boyfriend got rice and beans. Beans tasted like canned beans that never had the juice poured out and were rinsed..... rice was mushy with frozen veggies thrown into it. He got salsa and chips as well and that was the only nice thing. Hope the review helps you...
