I really don't like leaving bad reviews in general, but this was a disappointing experience that resulted in what was essentially a bait and switch tactic, either intentionally or unintentionally. The menu has one price listed, but this price was not accurate when we paid. I simply wouldn't trust a business that operates this way, mainly because it was confirmed that this wasn't just an honest mistake after the restaurant doubled down on their pricing when we questioned our total. To make matters worse, they also said that they were aware of the prices being wrong because other customers had reported it to them in the past. Combine this with food that was average at best while ultimately being overpriced (due to the pricing error), and you get a pretty negative experience. The rest of this review is simply the above situation in more detail, but we definitely don't recommend eating here, at least on principle alone.
The drive-thru menu lists breakfast tacos as being $2.49/ea. for two-ingredient tacos, with each additional ingredient being $0.30. It also says that 4 tacos together makes a combo deal for $8.00, so we figured that 4 bacon, egg, and cheese tacos would be $8.00 + $1.20 for the extra ingredient. After paying, we noticed that we were charged almost $16.00 on the receipt for our 4 tacos.
When I asked how the total was that much given the combo price, I was told that the combo only applies when you order two-ingredient tacos. Since our tacos had three ingredients, they were charged as 4 separate two-ingredient tacos + the one additional ingredient rather than using the combo price and adding the additional ingredient on top of it. While I don't believe that the menu indicates that this is how the combo works, the price for 4 $2.49 tacos plus one ingredient would still be closer to $12.00, not $16.00. When I asked about this, I was told that each taco is actually $3.49 + the additional ingredient. When I said that the menu has them listed for $2.49, I was just told, "Yeah, sorry, other people have complained about it being wrong too." If other people have complained, then these prices should be changed, even if all you can do is use some printer paper, a sharpie, and packing tape, but obviously this was never done.
So, not only does this restaurant interpret their menu a way that benefits them the most, even when certain exceptions are not written out, but they also knowingly leave incorrect prices on their drive-thru menu. Ultimately we are just talking about a $6.00 difference, but the principle isn't right. After all of that, the actual tacos were gone in 3 bites, simply weren't very good, and definitely were not worth close to $4.00/ea. I would just recommend going...
Read moreI order through the Waitr app to pick up breakfast tacos from here every so often. I did that today & the app said my order would be ready in 10 minutes. They usually don't have it together when I get there so I took a few extra minutes to bundle up before heading out. When I got there just a few minutes later (I live a few buildings down) I stood at the front counter as always to wait for a chance to tell someone I was there for my order. The Waitr app said my food was ready so I figured I'd be waiting maybe 2 minutes top. Well, I was there for maybe 10 or more minutes just waiting. I made direct eye contact with at least 2 employees and I'm sure at least 4 employees saw me standing at their front counter where they ring customers up. The same place where I always wait for my order. None of them said anything to me once. Then a lady who had been eating in the restaurant & who was now done & ready to pay came & got in line behind me. 2 staff members almost instantly helped her! Then when they were done with her, they walked away without saying anything to me. So,as soon as I saw one of them again I very assertively and loudly told here "Hey I've been here for a while now and no one has helped me. I'm here for a pick up order that I ordered through Waitr." Then she went to check on it & no one seemed to know anything about my order. Then a young man from the back wearing a headset for drive through came out & asked me my name & what I ordered. He is the only reason I got my order. It wasn't until he was already helping me that one of the other waitresses asked me what I needed. Over 10 minutes had gone by. I understand restaurants are busy, I work at one, but they blatantly ignored me.They helped other customers who came to that same counter after I had already been there & then continued to ignore me. I'm usually very polite because I know being a waitress/server isn't always all that great. I usually try to be very patient as well. They will not be receiving any more of my...
Read moreIf you want good service and food, go elsewhere. I've been to many Mexican restaurants in my 33 years of being a Native Texan, I've even run them before. I knew when I had to go ask for salsa and chips after 20 minutes that my experience was already heading for the ditch. We wanted to sit on their patio facing the driving range and we were early for lunch but my son works at noon and we went to the golf course prior.
We were seated outside and we were forgotten about. I'm surprised we even got our food right before the 1 hour mark. The wait staff also doesn't understand English words with ease, we stated FLAUTAS 3 times for one of my sons and he was brought chicken FAJITAS. I told her the order was incorrect and she acted upset that he wouldn't eat the Fajita plate. No kid likes a plate mixed with veggies and guacamole and sour cream from what I've seen. While waiting for our food, I was curious where the chips and salsa were, I had to use the bathroom, so I went inside and asked. The hostess told me that since it was before 11 (10:50 am) they could bring me salsa and chips but it would be $1 charge. I almost laughed because I couldn't believe she was serious. No one even asked if we wanted it, but every single table inside had 3 salsa bowls, chip containers and bigger salsa jars to refill the bowls. I told her I don't care about the fee but I have never heard of them not bringing sala/chips to the table.
When she brought the corrected plate out, we had to get going and I asked for Togo boxes and our check. My son had time to eat and we were still waiting for the boxes and check. Again, I had to go inside to ask where the items were so we could leave. Our food was $50 and I was the only one who ate half of my plate. My husband's cheese fries were drenched in queso and soggy, my son at the flautas but wouldn't eat the rice/beans.
Not satisfied at all and even though I don't eat fast food, I'd prefer that over this meal and experience...
