An honest review,
Walking into BoxDrop Temple, I was completely braced for the usual furniture gauntlet: an individual that I do not know trying to upsell me toward $7â11k worth of necessary household products that are of legitimate importance, regardless of whether my needs remain static or continue to evolve as time marches on. I was realistically prepared to have to try and âtalk someone downâ from a much higher figure, only to meet me at what I believed would still be an unreasonably high figure (maybe around $4â6k). I hadnât purchased a mattress or couch since maybe 2019, but I remembered them being almost unreasonably expensive even before the whole COVID ordeal, and I hadnât gone with high-quality furniture in past sales by any definition. I was pleasantly surprisedâastonishingly so.
I will leave the individual breakdown of the price I paid for the items I purchased undisclosed out of respect for the employees/owners and the fact that I do not know them, and probably most importantly did not tell them that I would be posting a public review one way or another. But I am hoping that this honest experience helps at least one single working-class family (anyone, for that matter) not get completely shammed by the showroom trap of the traditional big-box furniture stores and potentially save thousands upon thousands of dollars the way that I did yesterday. I spent well under half of what I expected to spend and upgraded quality significantly.
Iâm not going to touch upon the quality too much here, as that is well documented and highlighted by what looks like hundreds of five-star reviews from previous customers. What I will say is that the quality and variety of the products carried by BoxDrop Temple rival or surpass most of the big-box showrooms I have been in across applicable competing industries. The furniture that you purchase from Ashleyâs is the same exact furniture that I purchased from BoxDrop Temple for under half the price, and I removed it from the shipping box and factory plastic seal myself with all original labels intact. I know little to nothing about the industry or products other than the fact that I use them and need them, but I will truthfully say that I hadnât even realized how poorly Iâd been sleeping on my old mattress until I spent a night on this one. With four kids at home, comfort and durability matter, but so does not wasting money.
What I found was the opposite of the stereotype. No gimmicks, no pressure, no fast-talking sales tactics. Instead, I ended up with a Beautyrest Black king mattress (the exact one retailing for nearly $4,700 at Ashley) and a large sectional that completely transforms our living roomâfor far less than I had expected to pay.
The experience was simple, straightforward, and honest. The staff listened, offered real solutions, and let the products speak for themselves. The savings are obvious, but the integrity is what sets this place apartâand I truthfully, almost hilariously, never thought that I would be making such a ubiquitous claim about a furniture store and its operating staff. They met me at 5:00 P.M. on a Sunday in their warehouse on a side of town that I am somewhat unfamiliar with, and not only was it not an awkward or nervous encounter, but now, knowing the environment and interacting with the people, I would have felt comfortable sending my wife by herselfâand I oft-times feel bad, protective, and overprotective if I forget to get gas for her and she has to go to the gas station after dusk.
BoxDrop Temple earned my trust, and I wouldnât hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking for quality furniture without the...
Read moreI purchased a mattress 7/3/19. The price was incredible compared to the initial quality of the mattress. Yes, these are new mattresses in their plastic bag with manufacturer's warranties. The process was far easier than any other place I've purchased mattresses and other furnishings. Lane was courteous and personable. He walked me through the inventory and was knowledgeable of the designs of the different models. I liked that he asked questions about what I was looking for with my comfort and that there was a "test bed" for the different models to see which one fits. I opted for the "$50 down, 90 days to pay", and that process was quite simple. Lane walked me through it and I was out of the shop rather quickly with my new mattress. If you're going to go to a larger size, make sure to measure your area where the the new mattress will go to ensure it will fit. Overall, this was a great experience and the mattress is very...
Read moreI bought a king size pillow top mattress a little over a year ago. I went in and picked one out. My credit wasn't the best at the time and this was the only store doing financing. At first he delivered the wrong mattress. I contacted him and he charged me an extra $20 to deliver the right one. I gave my neighbor $20 to help take my old mattress to the dumpster. I asked what he would charge to help my neighbor take it and he charged me over $70 to take the mattress 100 feet to the dumpster. The mattress was $900 without all those added charges. It broke within 6 months. It was on a mattress frame and supported. Nothing on my end should have broke it. It was miserable sleeping on it. I had to sleep on it for a year before I was able to afford to buy another one. I went to Walker Furniture in Belton and got an amazing king size pillow top for the same price but much better quality. Never...
