If I could go back in time, I would! We arrived just before closing and ordered 2 gluten free sausage, red onion, and fresh tomatoes pizzas with extra cheese. The woman taking the order asked me if I wanted cherry tomatoes or plum tomatoes. I chose plum tomatoes. I explained that I had a severe gluten allergy and gave them my usual speech about it. The woman taking my order went to the back to let them know. We get our pizzas and leave the restaurant. As I walk to the car, I’m envisioning the sliced plum tomatoes. Excitedly, I checked the pizzas when we got to the car and saw that both had sausage and red onions, with what looked like, spoonfuls of canned tomato paste!!. Concerned that I’ve taken someone else’s pizza, and worried about gluten contamination, I take both pizzas back. There are 2 girls now and I explained to both what had happened. Instead of thinking the worst, I’m hoping that they just forgot to put the fresh tomatoes. The girl offers me 2 more pizzas. I asked for a refund because we really didn’t want 2 more pizzas. She told us they can not do either a store credit or make 2 more pizzas. So I take the 2 pizzas because like I told the girl, I’m most likely not coming back to this place. Now we have to wait more. While I’m waiting one of the girls, keeps staring at me while I’m watching the TV. I look at her and she looks away. This happens like 5 more times. She leaves to go to the kitchen, comes back and there is a super loud sneeze coming from the kitchen! I instantly react and said “omg he sneezed on our pizzas?” And she says to me “well actually your pizzas were already in the oven before the sneeze, I think.” I tell my husband. “It isn’t worth it. I don’t want the pizzas someone intentionally sneezed on. No thank you.” And we left. Because we don’t want pizzas that have been sneezed on and we don’t want dirty looks. We want people to do the job they advertised. Fresh tomatoes, is not a freshly opened can of tomato paste!! Fresh tomatoes is fresh tomatoes!!!! Seriously though, I deserve...
Read moreThe irony of this review is that I ate the entire sausage pizza. Okay, I was really hungry. And while the crust was thinner than I prefer, and the spread of cheese and sauce was equally sparse, the sausage was excellent. The issue is that I assumed the sheen of oil floating across the surface of the pizza was what made this a "hot oil" pizza. Now, I'm no longer sure that was the case. Hot oil is an extra, and since I didn't order that, it looks like what was swimming across the surface of the entire pizza I ate wasn't hot oil, but, well, I guess it was grease from the sausage and cheese. If I eat nothing but salad for the next two weeks, will that be a proper...
Read moreWe moved permanently to the Jupiter area 2 years ago. The food in this area is fabulous but pizza still wasn't the same. That is until our favorite Connecticut pizza restaurant opened here! Riko's makes a quinestential CT/New Haven style pizza. We have eaten here twice since it's open and from the salads to the pizzas, we'd swear were are back in CT. The restaurant is bright and spacious with lots of TV's. Back up north, Riko's was 95% takeout. The staff is a pleasure and so happy to get feedback from patrons from their other locations. Thank you, thank you, thank you for opening here! PS: Pickup is super simple, with a dedicated pickup window in the side...
