My Husband ordered a Stargazer Lily arrangement a week in advance of my birthday to be delivered to the hotel where we were staying. An hour before delivery, the florist called him and said that they couldn't get the stargazers but had better lillies instead. When the arrangement was delivered, not a single flower was opened. My husband called the florist to see what happened. He spoke to the owner who got very very defensive saying that most people request their flowers to be unopened so that they last longer. She also said that she special ordered the flowers specifically for my arrangement and that if we wanted them to be opened, we should have said something.
Stargazer Lillies are my favorite flower. They are a beautiful magenta pink and the fragrance of them will fill a hotel room in minutes. We only stayed at our hotel for 2 nights, and the entire time my flowers never opened and I never got to enjoy the fragrance.
In my 39 years of life, I've never come across a florist that you had to specifically tell them you want your flowers to be opened. Also in the arrangement was 1 stem of stargazers and we were told they couldn't get any stargazers. The rest of the lillies weren't even an oriental variety, they looked like cheap basic pink asiatic lillies. When these lillies finally opened, they had no fragrance at all, very indicative of asiatic lillies.
To the owner, if you can't get the specific flower requested by the customer, please don't wait till 2 hours after the delivery time to let them know. We could have just went to Whole Foods and bought stargazers there because they had them. Also, don't get so defensive when a customer voices their concerns. We weren't looking for anything for free, just clarification why we were told one thing but given something completely different when the order was placed a week in advanced. I feel that the ball was dropped and instead of owning up to it, you basically made my husband feel like it was his fault that the flower arrangement came out so terrible.
Sadly, we are still on the hunt for a great florist.
*Replying to the owners response- Here is another business owner that blames the customer. We have used many florists in florida and have been extremely happy with them so I'm pretty sure my husband would not have said that about florida florists. Ultimately, my husband requested a certain flower arrangement. You called him 2 hours AFTER the scheduled delivery time to say that the lilies he specifically requested were not available and that you had "better" lillies. Then you said that the lillies were specifically ordered for him(wait what?). The lillies you put in the arrangement were of sup-par quality and were not ready to be put into an arrangement. It looked like you just threw this together at the last minute. For anyone thinking of using this florist, think twice. They will do whatever they want, then when you express your concerns, they will blame you. I included a picture of what the arrangement looked like a week after we received it. The majority of the flowers didn't open and never opened. They just basically died like this. I've never had a flower arrangement look...
Read moreI live in Staten Island and called Creative Florals for an arrangement for a family membe and spoke with Lynn regarding the arrangement. Not once did I feel rushed or pushed but rather the opposite. She was very informative, honest and helpful but more than that Lynn has superior customer service skills. She was delightful in every possible way, even when I made several changes to the message card! Lynn also sent me a photo of the arrangement before delivery. Lastly and most importantly Lynn answered the phone on a day the shop was closed, imagine that!!! I had to change the delivery date to the very day the shop was closed and Lynn came through fro me and had the piece delivered that day. In my many years of living it is not often you come across business people like Lynn! She is fabulous in every way, on every level and that is why I have to give a huge shout out about Lynn and Creative Florals. By the way, the recipient of the arrangement loved the flowers so much, she will be contacting Creative Florals for an order shortly. Talented, professional, accommodating, personable and creative! You will never be disappointed with Creative Florals, but rather confident that what you order is exactly or better than you can hope for. Thank you Lynn so much! Sandy from...
Read moreBrides beware!!! I unfortunately used Creative Florals recently for my wedding and it was the biggest mistake I made of our wedding. Unfortunately, you can see similar experiences to mine on Yelp.
Creative Florals did not provide multiple items at our wedding, which were included in our contract and of course were paid for, they included dead and wilted flowers in my bridal bouquet which I had to get remade hours before the wedding, and provided such terrible and pathetic looking arrangements for the ceremony and reception that my coordinator had to take them apart and put them in vases so we could have SOME flowers displayed at the wedding.
In addition to the issues with the actual flower arrangements, the owner of Creative Flowers (Lynne) was extremely nasty and difficult to work with when my coordinator and I expressed our concerns with the missing and incorrect items delivered on the day of the wedding.
I have never left a negative review for a vendor, restaurant, or service provider, until now. Don’t be fooled by Lynne’s warm demeanor when you first speak with her - it is the ultimate “bait and switch” and she cares about little more than her...
