Delicious food, fast service and friendly staff! I was in area for my first time, so I had no idea where to go have a warm, nutritious and delicious meal. Eastern House did a terrific job at satisfying all my cravings and making me feel like home even though I was thousands of miles away from home 😅 The staff was very welcoming, friendly and patient. They took the time to explain some items on the menu in detail, which made my decision easier. They have many different delicious dishes, desserts and drinks on their menu.
I ordered a Shrimp Dry Pot and Mango Chicken (and made it spicy 🌶). To begin, they brought me a mini wonton soup, which was very tasty. It was so good, I had seconds. The meat had the perfect amount of spices and all the flavors literally melted in your mouth. The pot in which my dry pot came in was the cutest and coolest thing I’ve eaten from. It was still on and boiling a little when it came to the table and eventually turned off. The shrimp dry pot was very flavorful and tasty. The shrimp were cooked perfectly, and the vegetables still held their natural crunch and flavors. The mango chicken was also delicious. It was sweet and salty with a spicy kick. The chicken still held its moisture and absorbed the flavors from the mango and spices. The vegetables were also crunchy and delicious like on the other dish.
For dessert, I had a Mango Sticky Rice. Overall it was sweet and had most of the great textures you look for in a mango sticky rice. In my opinion, the mango was not sweet at all. It was more on the bland side. I usually look forward to a sweet and juicy mango on this dessert, but this mango was not that. I also didn’t taste the deliciousness of coconut in this mango sticky rice. It was okay overall.
To drink I had an Thai iced tea. Not only did it taste great, but it was also refreshing.
I really enjoyed the food and the experience of Eastern House. I will definitely come back whenever I’m in the area again. Thank you for all the delicious food and...
Read moreThe server was patient, and to no fault of his, wasn’t able to communicate or understand what I was saying or asking. I kept asking about dishes in the small paper pamphlet without pictures. I had a hard time knowing most of them and had a harder time communicating with him. I eventually ordered, payed, then sat down waiting. In the mean time , he served another guest with two larger menus while they were sitting and brought drink to them. I didn’t know there was a lager menu, nor did he offer to give me o e considering my confusion, nor did he even offer to bring me a drink while I was waiting. Eventually I got my food to go, which turned out to be a bit bland and not spicy at all, which I asked repeatedly to make it spicy for me. It was mango chicken and I specifically asked it to be spicy, but it wasn’t at all. It came with a soup, which I also asked to be spicy, it also wasn’t but was filled with oil. The only two things I liked was the mango drink I got and the single spring roll it came with, which is why I’m giving...
Read moreAfter looking at their rating of 4.6, I thought that their food was going to be amazing. Boy, was the ratings wrong. This food was the worst that I've had in a while.
The first dish was the Thai Green Curry. This dish was very watered down and it's pretty much like you're eating soup and not curry. There wasn't any coconuts taste in the curry and it wasn't thick like I was expecting a traditional curry would be.
Second was the Pho. It has absolutely no flavor. Looks like they just boiled water and added a hint of beef flavor to it. There were no tastes at all.
The last dish was the Gad Pad Bai Grabrow lunch special. This dish was decent and was the only edible dish that was shared between three people.
The soup we chose with our dishes was wonton and sweet and sour. They were very bland as well.
I went there when they just opened up for 30 minutes and there were only 3 people.
Overall experience was ok. The cashier lady was very kind but won't be...
