Horrific is the best word I can use to describe it now. I'm tellin y'all; just don't.
We been going here for 10 years off an on. Maybe 3-4x a year. I can honestly say never again.
We ordered food in the shop a couple months back and it was kind of 'off' but nothing terrible. We just got a couple pieces of chicken and a side to split. Noticed it wasn't seasoned or anything but it was late and we were tired so we ate and left.
Last night we ordered food and had it delivered by Door Dash because I had a gift card and the kids were wanting chicken. It was awful. Pretty much within 5 minutes everyone chucked their plate in the trash and we went down to Sonic.
I mean, let me tell you zero salt, zero seasoning. The macaroni and cheese I swear tasted like it was canned or something; literally ZERO cheese flavor or seasoning. Just, I mean to tell you TERRIBLE. I was just, beside myself. But now that this is the 2nd time in a row its pretty clear this place has gone to the pits.
The only thing that was really edible was the black eyed peas which maybe had some flavor because of the jalapenos in them.
But the Chicken breast meat was almost rubber, like inedible couldn't even chew it. I don't know if it was fried while frozen or just sitting there all day. The Okra and Black Eye Peas were 'ok' but again, little to no seasoning and certainly no kind of seasoning in the Okra.
I know times are tough and I hate like heck to throw a bad review down on a small local business but I hope they'll look at this and decide to spend 50 cents an order on some salt, pepper and maybe cook smaller amounts of food rather than have stuff sit there and get rubbery.
People are generally willing to wait on the food if it's good. But they won't come back, if it's bad no matter how fast you get it...
Read moreEverything I've had is delicious!! I'm going to leave the five star because the food is very good and the prices are reasonable. We closed on our house on the ninth of Feb. So between the ninth and the 20th I would say we went there 6 or 8 times. Place is usually pretty busy. The last time I went to get supper I ended up leaving without my order. Because the service was so messed up that my food sat there for 15 minutes or so. I tried to check out but the boss said wait till we're done serving the people ahead of me. And the cashier wasn't busy. They had let others go around the people who were still being served but made me wait . To top it off the one woman she was waiting on walked around me and a lady . She came in the shop after me. And they wouldn't let me check .so I left my food on the counter and went home. I had spent probably between 125.00 to 150.00 in those days . But whatever. So if you want good food, with good prices, and hit or miss service then go for it.but I'm not going back. Too many other places that will...
Read more32 bucks for 2 sloppy joes, called “bbq sandwich” instant mash potatoes and a cold hard cheese green bean casserole. Very disappointed, especially after hearing such good things. Worst sloppy joe I’ve ever had, mostly beans. Extremely over priced. Fair value would be closer to 10 bucks.
Since the owner responded without reading my review I will post an edit. I am fully aware of the city I am in sir. Terrell Texas. So who’s fibbin here? I’m not the one selling sloppy joes and calling them “bbq sandwiches”. In Texas sir, a bbq sandwich is brisket. Not bean mush with small bits of mystery meat. Who the hell puts sweet beans on a bbq sandwich? lol. That’s a sloppy joe! As for the mystery casserole, i supposes what I though were green beans could have just been headless broccoli. I asked what it was before I ordered it, so it would seem that in my single visit to pops i was given 2 misrepresentations. Insinuating I’m too stupid to know what town I’m in is the quality of response I would expect as a reflection of the quality...
