I wish I could give 3.5 stars. I live locally but came for the first time yesterday as I was hoping by now they would have worked out the kinks. Starting with the good, the chips and salsa were tasty. The chicharron and yuca appetizer was very good. I enjoyed my birria tacos and my husband liked his carnitas tacos. As for the not so great- I think all of the staff was new? Or just the food/bev runners don’t know the table numbers. I am VERY pregnant and was brought a mango margarita after we ordered waters. Mistakes happen, no biggie! But then as we were finishing our app, we noticed the 3 top next to us received 2 dishes that looked like ours. We didn’t want to assume, but after 10 minutes of them not really touching their food as they were waiting for the 3rd persons food to arrive, a big tray of all of their actual meals arrived. The server noticed the mixup and picked up the 2 dishes and brought them over to us. Mine had been partially eaten so they remade it which only took about 5 minutes, but as for my husbands meal the server said the other table didn’t touch it so they wouldn’t be remaking it. This was strange to me as it was sitting infront of this stranger for 10 minutes. They were busy and we didn’t want to be fussy but in the future I think if food is sitting infront of the wrong person for an extended period of time it should be remade. We will wait a little and retry as maybe it was...
Read moreWorst restaurant experience I've ever had by a mile. First off, wore my nice white shoes and when we were seated under our table where our feet would be was the biggest mess of chip crumbs and sticky stuff I could only guess was someone's spilled salsa. They sat us anyway. Luckily they were apologetic and nice about it and offered to switch our table but the entire floor in that place was a sticky mess so it didn't really matter. Also i thought this place was new but they had 1 out of 2 urinals broken and filled with pee. Lovely... Second off I was very close to the person behind me there was not enough room for people to get by between us not even the waitress and multiples of times people would bump my seat, or if they were bigger would literally slide me and my seat down so they could get out of their seat no matter how far me or the person behind me scooted into the table. Guess there wasn't a better route they could've chosen to walk. On top of all this the waitress never asked how our food was, never asked if we wanted anything else, never gave us plates for our food and barely smiled. Great food but it was room temp. I've literally had better service at McDonald's. I would never go back no matter how good the food is and if by some chance I do ill do takeout or won't wear nice clothes. I don't usually write reviews, but this place earned my review in every way. If I could give negative...
Read moreGroup of 6 friends. The chips and salsa, DELICIOSO. I usually judge a Mexican restaurant starting with SALSA. If it's not good, probably mediocre restaurant. The following appetizers were delicious. Empanadas, Rangoon, yuca con chicharron (oh my goodness was the aioli to DIE for.) The street corn came with 2 very small ears, tasty but not worth the price.
The following main dishes were ordered. Carne Asada-large portion, excellent flavors with a good quality piece of meat. Cooked to perfction. Fajitas mixtas- traditional fajita dish which you really can't get wrong. Great portion size. I obviously ordered extra flour tortillas Parrillada for 2 - a must HAVE. Grilled chicken, steak, shrimp and chorizo. Yuca, plaintains, tomatos and 2 sides of rice and beans. Bybfar a favorite. The portion size made it well worth it. Chorizo enchilada- A Must Try! So much flavor...chefs kiss.
Be prepared as they MEASURE alcohol in their drinks. I advise to order an extra shot if you don't want to just taste the mixes. Or stick with a good Ole Corona or Modelo!
I did not like the beans/refried beans at all. Definitely a spice used in the recipe I am not found of. All O can relate it to is that is does not come close the the flavor if your traditional Mexican refried beans. AT ALL.
Music is VERY LOUD. I would recommend lowering the volume especially when playing the...
