After about a year and a half since my last visit, I decided to visit the Popeyes located in Texarkana, Arkansas. I called the store to place my order in advance. My plan was to pick up my food and enjoy it with 14 year old daughter on our ride home. I pulled up to the drive thru and was thankful they weren't busy. There were two other vehicles in the drive thru. In no time, I pulled to the speaker and waited for the drive thru cashier to greet me. After what seemed like a minute or two, I said, "Hello... hello". The drive thru attendant replied, "I said can you hold... PLEASE." I looked at my daughter and laughed a little at the unpleasant tone of the women's voice and responded, "Sure?" I was surprised with how her voice implied I was bothering her.
Once the lady finally decided to address me, she didn't greet me or welcome me to Popeye's. She simply requested for my order. I informed her that I called an order in and would like to add something to that order. She took the order and I pulled around to the drive thru window.
A moment after I paid for my food, the lady handed my order to me. I attempted to ask for dipping sauce and she cut me off as I was speaking and walked away without allowing me to finish my request.
I was truly bothered by this interaction. I was finally provided with the sauces I requested and decided to be sure to fill out the survey on the back of the receipt in order to share my bad experience.
As I was about to exit the premises, a group of four Popeye's employees caught my attention. I noticed three of them wore crew shirts and one lady wore a blue button up team lead/assistant manager shirt. I backed my SUV up and asked if she were a manager. I informed her of my displeasure at the behaviour of the woman in the drive thru. The woman stated she was one of the managers and she told me she knew exactly who I was talking about because she had already spoken to her about her tone earlier that day.
Honestly, the food was ok. I phoned in an order for the $10.00 box and I added the $3.99 three tenders, side and biscuit order at the order board.
The single orders of red beans & rice and mashed potatoes weren't hot or as warm as they should have been. The chicken was good, but the one spicy breast I ordered was over battered. I broke off a piece and there was a big clump of cooked batter which had the appearance of a spicy fried dumpling on one side and a steamed grease soaked dumpling on the other side. My order of one spicy tender and two regular tenders wasn't correct, but I decided to just take what they gave me because I wasn't going to turn around on I-30 to get my order corrected. The biscuits were as flaky, fluffy and yummy as they always are. Without butter or honey, Popeye's takes away from the deliciousness and possibilities of how their biscuits can be enjoyed.
Even though the chicken wasn't Popeye's signature hot fresh crispy flaky goodness, I would have given them a pretty good review. The fact that they allowed a disagreeable rude individual to work in the drive thru after apparently receiving complaints about her, is lazy on the part of the management team responsible for scheduling.
I decided to visit Popeye's even though McDonald's, Wendy's, Whataburger, and Taco Bell are within seconds of one another. There are also other non-fastfood restaurants close to Popeye's restaurants.
Even now, I'm shaking my head about...
Read moreWhat a serious disappointment! at 945 pm at the drive thru I ordered a 5pc regular not spicy chicken strip basket with fries as well as some red beans and rice and after receiving my food noticed that they didn't give me my fires, yet they charged me. So we turned around and went back through the drive thru there were 2 vehicles ahead of us. when we got to the window the girl very rudely said we don't have anything left and shut the window and wouldn't give a readjustment to the order or make fries to complete the order. I called the restaurant and tried to reach a manager but it went to an answering machine, I left a message, I called the next 2 days and left a message each time asking for a manager to call me back so they could make it right, I have yet to hear from anyone.... not to mention the chicken was spicy not regular unspicy and I was sick. I have looked for a corporate number and haven't been able to find any one else to talk to about this matter. i wouldn't be as upset if someone had been willing to make this right instead I was repeatedly ignored. I am very upset by this and I won't recommend Popeyes or spend my hard earned money there again. I will also be sharing this on social media to let others know.... just remember bad news spreads faster than good and in this economy I don't think any business can...
Read moreDear GM, Corporate, other would-be customers, and ect, I came through the drive-through at 7:25pm this evening where it took about 30 minutes to order and pay, at which point I was instructed to park without being given a reciept for my $40+ order. 45 minutes later I'm still sitting out there trying to call and get the attention of the girl in the window, but nobody would answer the phone and the drive-through attendant managed to help 2 people without seeing me waving from the car. Finally I get my kids out of their carseats and carry them inside demanding to know where my food is. The manager basically just tells me "We're busy" and walks to the back. Luckily the cashier was on it and quickly offered my girls.some cookies and drinks while she got my order. She also admitted to forgetting my order when I asked. It wasnt the cashier's fault, and god bless her for defusing the situation. In the end the food was good, but I didnt leave with it until 9pm. Oh, except the red beans and rice... I took pictures of what they think qualifies as a Large, 4 small containers not even a quarter filled. Yall could've put that all in one cup, you're not fooling anyone. I doubt I'll be returning there. Conveniently there is a KFC a block away.
TLDR: They forgot me and my order after I paid in...
