This was opening day of Roma so I thought I would try it. I was promptly seated upon entry. Shortly after being seated, a basket of bread was dropped off. I waited an extended period before a waitress arrived to take my drink order. By this time, I had already browsed the menu and decided on the Italian trio whuch said it was served with bread and salad. I ordered my drink and placed my order for the Italian trio. The waitress asked if I wanted to add a salad. I said the menu says it is served with a salad and she replied that I have to add the salad for $2.99. I added the salad.
The salad arrived at my table within a couple of minutes but my drink had not arrived. I began eating my salad while waiting for my drink. I finished my salad and still didn't have a drink. Roughly 10 minutes passed and the waitress arrived with my Italian trio, but still no drink. I asked her if I could get my drink and she responded yes, and said she was sorry. She brought the drink out. There was no separation of the food. I couldn't tell where the chicken parmesan ended and the lasagna began. Not a huge deal, but it didn't seem well presented. The lasagna and chicken parmesan were definitely smothered in cheese. The food was good, but possibly had too much cheese if that's possible.
About halfway through the meal the check was dropped off with the comment of no rush. I had wanted desert, but I wasn't asked. When I finished dinner and the waitress returned, I told her that I wanted a strawberry cheesecake to go. She came back 5 minutes later and said they were out off cheesecake. This was disappointing, but I went with plain cheesecake. She brought it out after a few minutes and added it to the check.
I gave her my credit card and away she went. She came back with a machine and asked me to enter the tip. I entered the tip amount and she clicked the incorrect button. This caused the transaction to cancel. Someone else walked up and told her that wouldn't work. She started the transaction again and I entered the tip again. The lady with her asked if I wanted a receipt because their printer wasn't working. I said yes and provided my email address. I left disappointed with the visit.
I assume they rushed to open even though it appears that they weren't exactly ready to open. I still gave them 3 stars on this review as I assume most of my issues were related to opening day. With this being opening day, I will be back to give them another shot and will update if the visit...
Read moreSpend your money at one of the many delicious Italian restaurants in Texarkana: Joe’s Pizza and Pasta, Verona, or Chappo’s. Atmosphere is the best aspect of this restaurant because it is in the building that was originally Copeland’s. I ordered Chicken Napoli, which was described on the menu as sautéed chicken, lightly breaded mushrooms, roasted red peppers, mozzarella cheese, broccoli, cream cheese sauce and marinara sauce. What I got was breaded overly fried to the point of being burnt chicken, topped with melted mozzarella, a couple of non-breaded mushrooms, excessive broccoli, and marinara. I do not like breaded chicken in Italian dishes, and this chicken was overcooked. I nicely pointed it out to the waitress (who had to be asked to bring us silverware THREE times before we got it). She apologized and sent the manager over who agreed that the menu description was wrong and that they would fix it and then proceeded to talk about himself at length. We get the ticket and there is no adjustment. The waitress is a bit embarrassed and said she would talk to the manager. She came back with $6 taken off a $16.99 entree that I did not eat. Fine. We checked out at the front with the manager continuing to talk about himself. Told him maybe my dogs would enjoy the chicken. It went right over his head. My husband ordered the Roma Special. It was fine but nothing special. The Stuffed Mushrooms we ordered were TINY with little to no stuffing. The serving dish was mostly pink sauce - the tastiest part of the meal, honestly. Next time, we will spend our money elsewhere. I see no point in returning since the food served does not match the menu description and management obviously...
Read moreTHERE WAS GLASS IN MY PIZZA!!!! My husband and I were enjoying the cheese pizza with pepperoni and then I bit on something hard and I thought it was a little piece of plastic but it was a small piece of sharp glass, they made me go back to restaurant to return the food, that was 17 min away so they can remake it… the Greek salad was also not fresh and they barely gave me any salad. I felt this was uncalled for, I asked for credit to remake the food another day so my husband and I can have a better experience in the restaurant and it was so embarrassing going back… when I picked up the pizza they knew i also wanted the salad remade and they started doing it when I arrived. The cook and the server did apologize but I feel this is the wrong way to handle such a delicate issue with the quality of their food. This didn’t make me happy or even made me want to come back. The pizza wasn’t bad and it’s sad they made me go back but hey that’s why I’m writing this review in hopes they change the way they handle these types of situations in the future. I literally cried walking out bc it was extremely uncomfortable… this restaurant was more worried if I was lying than what could’ve happened in my mouth or GI tract. My food was only about 30 dollars and I didn’t even dare to ask for a refund after what they made me do. Also may I add as I was expressing my self to the server he said he couldn’t give me a refund anyway bc the charge already went through… it wasn’t about the money and I didnt even ask for a refund...
