We ordered the “Fletcher’s Bubbly” app (a hot artichoke dip) which took waaay too long (and arrived maybe 10 minutes prior to our entrees, if I’m being generous). I don’t know what they were doing w it, bc it arrived in a crock barely half full and not bubbly at ALL, but rather completely separated into cheese and pools of oil. It really presented like someone else’ leftover dip reheated in the microwave, so not great.
I had the baked chicken and broccoli (alfredo with bow ties), which tasted fine, all though there wasn’t much actual chicken and it was oddly diced into tiny third-inch pieces. It felt like they were trying to spread way too little chicken a long way. Don’t do that. It’s annoying. Just charge me more for a reasonable portion.
The other guests at my table had the roast beef, the olive burger, and cream of mushroom soup (none of which I tried) and seemed reasonably happy with those.
I took home a slice of the “World’s Best Chocolate Cake.” Sadly it was not. The filling (probably whipped chocolate buttercream) was the only good part. The cake was far too dense and both the frosting and whatever the dense bottom chocolate layer was supposed to be were just loaded with unblended sugar granules I could actually feel and crunch. It was also served right out of the refrigerator, which wasn’t appealing. It was “less bad” at room temperature later at home. I ate about a third and threw the rest away.
Service was good except for the appetizer problem. I would never have brought that separated dip to a table. Ever. I would have also made sure the entrees weren’t going to arrive so soon afterwards. Waitstaff needs to advocate for their guests and not let the kitchen get away with stacking...
Read moreI usually enjoy this Fletchers pub but I think I might prefer the one on Oakland now after two bad experiences in a row. The server Madeline was excellent, the manager, Ferguson, was very kind and friendly. The food however was terrible. We ordered the bubbler which is a great go to but It was oily, dry and look like it only had the artichokes with very little sauce, like they were scraping the bottom of the container. I sent that back once to get the oil out of it and it came back looking even worse. The pizzas, although I’ve had excellent ones at the Oakland location, were not even worth the money we paid. I would have rather had a hot and ready. There was waaay too much cheese and sauce and the cheese was not melted very well. My experience before this last one in had asked them to keep it in just a minute or two longer to have the cheese browned slightly and it come out pretty burnt, just barley edible. I’m just taking these pizzas home and doctoring them up myself. I only write this review because i worked for main st pub for almost seven years as a cook, server and bartender almost 14 years ago. I also worked at fletchers for a hot second so i know how to make the pizzas. I do hope that the cooks gets better with time. Always excellent service and...
Read moreI decided to try this place because I was craving a Cuban Sandwich. I ordered online and it said it would be ready in 30 minutes. I went to pick up my food and the greeter said let me go grab that for you. I sat to wait and I see my order on the table around the corner. So he came back and I said my order is there and he said, "Oh yeah I forgot that I put it there like an hour ago". Anyways, just happy to have my food at that point. Opening the food, I am very disappointed. The fries were dry but dipped in some ranch, manageable. The Cuban sandwich is just sad though. First of all, there is barely any shredded pork. The bread and ham are very dry. The sandwich just seems to be missing meat and carelessly thrown together. The apple crisp (although seems to have no crisp, just apples) was just thrown in a bowl and icecream in another just sitting in there melted. I am happy to spend money on good food but this entire meal was a disappointment and I will not be eating at this...
