Luna's Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Texas City

So for ANOTHER attempt and normal dinner foods post-surgery this week, I wanted Mexican food. Now NORMALLY Luna's in Texas City has been the go-to spot... Until recently! I don't hide that we frequented this place quite often... UNTIL the last time when the waitress decided to give herself an extra $10 tip (for a total of $20 tip on a $39 order!)... Charged to my husband's credit card. When contacted about this, they refused to credit the unauthorized extra money but claimed we would get the credit next time we came in... Which we reluctantly decided to give them a chance to right the wrong... Tonight (Sunday 10/18).

WELL... We arrived at the location and were pushed into a booth and left alone with NO service for the first 15 minutes... No chips, no drinks... Not even SILVERWARE or a paper menu (like they have been doing since reopening post-pandemic)! We FINALLY get someone to stop and we order 2 glasses of tea and a large queso. 10 minutes later, we're brought 2 teas, STALE chips, and COLD congealed queso. We sat there for ANOTHER 20 minutes and NO ONE came by to take our order or ANYTHING. We were one of 3 tables in the WHOLE place! The little "hostess" who hustled us into a booth sat at the register playing on her cell phone... Even looking our way quite a few times!

I'd had enough and hubby went up to her and she made him wait as she was gabbing on the telephone... I told him we need to rectify for the cold cheese and 2 teas since we obviously weren't good enough to be waited or even checked on... She offered NO apologies, offers for opportunities to speak to management, or ANY rectification for the unacceptable behaviors/practices... and just proceeded to charge MY card $13.13 for 2 teas and cold cheese! I made sure to make LARGE noticeable ZEROS where you fill in the tip. I stated I WILL be watching my card transactions VERY closely considering their previous fraudulent charges AND that we would NOT be bringing our business back... To which all she said was "ok".

We promptly left Luna's and drove all the way to Alvin to try getting BETTER service and food somewhere else!

Having worked professionally in the food industry as a chef AND being a business owner, ALL aspects of tonight's Luna's debacle are COMPLETELY 100% unacceptable no matter if you're a large corporation OR a small "mom & pop" brick & mortar establishment! You should NEVER act as if one person's business is unimportant!! Quite frankly we probably could have received better service at TACO BELL... OR A GAS STATION eatery! Personally, I will NOT recommend this place EVER AGAIN!

So I would have to say this location is by far my favorite. But 2 yrs ago I came with my mother who said she would pay for us but she lied and didn't pay so Gina one of the workers took it upon herself to come at me side ways (she's known me since I was little) for said actions and told me I was a liar because she doesn't believe my mother would do that. I have text proof photo proof and we paid the amount that wasn't paid plus extra. Now we are out of whom we considered to be a good friend known him for 4+ yes at that point now going on 6 years and the last two he doesn't hardly talk to us. Gina is rude and always has been rude to me because of the gossip she gets from my mother. She is always been sweet to me up until then. I can honestly say I had no idea. And we had been there many many times after the fact and we always tipped very well but we never chose Gina because of her rude attitude towards me because of my mother. Not trying to dis her but she most definitely should look at the entire picture before pointing fingers. Now we go there and get sat at the back and 3-4 different people tending the table and we don't even know who to tip. The amount of disrespect I feel from this is horrid. I pay my due even paid extra and tried to appologize from the bottom of my heart just to be shunned and treated like an outcast because of Gina and her mouth and redness. I've been in and out of court for the way my mother does me Gina only knows my mother's side of it and for her to bring outside life into a work place is just sad. I go there to eat and have a good time with my preferred server and Gina ruined all of that for me over a misunderstanding that I most definitely did my part on...

So visited here on Saturday 7/31 about 6/7ish...

Upon opening the doors i wasn't greeted but asked how many I let them know i am not sure as i was waiting on my party. In doing so i observed the floor was dirty and dusty and the mini carpet wasn't vacuumed . The lady behind the counter who walked around to stare out the window looked decent in a black untucked polo while another gentleman in a wrinkled red and white striped shirt was leaning on the counter. The fixtures you can see were dusty and all i could think of was possible dust flying in my food. So i endured when the party arrived escorted to our area tables where no one know who was going to be our server. Then a lady came with chips and dip who told us someone will be out to get the drink order . The place was not packed at all. Finally someone came to take the drink order , which some of us wanted an alcoholic beverage they had to wait again for someone to come and take that order. Finally when this perso came our drinks where barely being served in which one of the girls waters had hair in it which turned all of us off, but the gentleman who attempted to take my friends order acted like he didn't want to take it, scratched his sweaty head with the order pad right over my friend. With that we left.

Seems some improvement need to be made with cleanliness, hygien ,and order of operation and job description. In my...
