The absolute worst restaurant experience ever here in Texas city. The staff was the upmost rude. I came at a time when I knew it would be less customers, so that I could film a review on one of their new fall items on the menu at my table I had no camera equipment, just my phone, and a small handheld tripod. I asked my waitress could I sit alone in a particular section, and she agreed.
A few minutes later a manager brought a family in there a man, and a woman with two children between the ages of seven months, and four years old. The older child was holding a few toys, and for some odd reason the manager sat the family right next to my table keep in mind, the restaurant was nearly empty.
To be honest, no other customers were in the whole restaurant plenty of tables to go around. I heard the manager tell them “this is a perfect spot here, sit here” I couldn’t understand why she would sat them right next to me after I asked to be alone again, the waitress agreed. My food had already made it to my table.
I started the review, shortly after that both children started screaming really loud in the restaurant, and that’s fine. Children are going to be children. That’s not my point here the older child jumped up, and looked over at my table, and threw one of his toys over on my food, the toy rolled off my table on to the floor underneath my table. The mother came around and reached over my food, looking for the kids toy, and I told her it rolled under the table.
Soon after I asked my waitress to just bring me a to-go-box. I don’t know if she went, and got the manager, they had to have discussed something the manager came over, and asked me, “how was my experience?” I told her it was horrible I let her know what happened, and she just said “OK.” “Have a nice day.”
I paid my bill, and left the restaurant. Once I got home, I called back to the restaurant and thoroughly spoke with the same manager, and let her know that I was totally disappointed in my visit, that no one should have someone else reaching over their food, and getting toys thrown on their meal.
She said, “OK let me go discuss this with the other manager” once she got back on the phone, she said “I’m sorry we can’t do anything about it. This is a family restaurant, and we can’t stop people from bringing their children, and toys in here.”
Despite my experience which was totally unacceptable, I will never understand customer service like this, utterly disappointed, and will never step foot in this restaurant again! The Webster location is, so much better in every aspect...
Read moreIt was one of the dirtiest Olive Garden restaurants I ever went to. I spoke to the Manager Shawn about it. The bathrooms we're dirty with toilet paper all over the stalls and no paper towels in either if the dispensers to dry your hands. I also brought this to the attention of the greeters.
Shawn stated that the health inspector just finished doing an inspection of his restaurant. I was seated by the wine racks and the wine bottles had two inches of dust. I asked him if he thought this was acceptable with the potential of the dust blowing on my food in such close proximity.
I told him based on the bathrooms and the wine racks, I felt that his establishment was the filthiest Olive Garden I had ever been to. And I hadn't even read the health inspection findings or seen what it was like behind the scenes in the kitchen!
I asked the server three times to see the Manager. He took his time coming out to speak to me. While the wait staff was tremendous, Shawn was not prompt to come out and address my concerns. He made me wait and wait despite my wait staff telling him I wanted to talk to him.
I told wait staff he was not very customer friendly and that I still was waiting for him to come out and speak to me. And what matters did he have more pressing than customer satisfaction and told wait staff it had nothing to do with the way we were served, but rather, the cleanliness of the facility which was a direct reflection on Management.
I told the Manager Shawn that even the lighting should be cleaned on a regular basis and not have dust hanging over our heads and encouraged him to do a better job as it reflected on him and his performance as a manager.
Customers expect to know they are eating in a clean and healthy environment. And that was his job to ensure the esthetics and hygiene are maintained.
He endured me that he would have wait staff clean the wine racks and bathrooms before close.
If I was not from out of town I would follow up to see that it was rectified and if not I would demand another health inspection.
Citizens of Texas City u should expect better. To your health! Speak up! U deserve a clean atmosphere to take ur families and loved ones!
I did tip our waiter well. His service was outstanding as well as the other wait staff that I saw being very accommodating and congenial to...
Read moreWent to dinner on the night of 8/8/2019 for the celebration of a special event. Let me tell you, I do not have high expectations of Olive Garden as someone who is well acquainted with genuine Italian cuisine, but this was just a horrible experience. We showed up and we were seated in the restaurant, which was very packed as this location, but the seating honestly is somewhat uncomfortable as you are right on top of everyone else who is dining there. We sat there for a solid five minutes before we were asked for our drink order, and then we sat and waited another 20 minutes at least to place our appetizer order, the server claiming that this was due to the kitchen being backed up. I was totally okay with this because I understood that the restaurant was very busy at the time. It took another 20 minutes to get our drinks and appetizer, probably another 10 minutes from there until we got our breadsticks. Now I will mention that one of the people in our party used to actually work for Olive Garden and assured me that this does not happen often and that they were actually surprised by how bad the service was, they had spent 3 year as an employee of the company. After this, we ordered, and no joke it took another 40 minutes for our entrees to arrive, and by time they had, we were full of bread and soup, so we decided to package up our meals. They don't reheat well, so we ultimately just wound up throwing them away. If you are really interested in a good experience with Italian, I whole heartedly recommend Maggiano's at Baybrook, which has an expontentially better atmosphere and continuously offers a BOGO deal on their meals. The food is better, the experience is better, and the overall value is better. There is legitimately no reason to go to Olive Garden. You won't go back...
