9er's Grill — Restaurant in Texas

I'm not so sure why this place has such good reviews. This was the first and last time I am ever eating here. We told the lady at the front counter that it is our first time here, we weren't sure how to order or if we sat down. She explained self service and we placed our order. Two kids meals, a BBQ pork spud and a chicken fried steak meal with salad that they heavily pushed on us. What we got was one kids meal chicken fried steak and spud. No salad no other kids meal but she knew we ordered the two kids meals because we got two kids cups and two kids cookies. The kids meal chicken breast looked okay and my son liked it. The grilled cheese kids meal, when we finally got the forgotten order was not great and looked like it was made in a toaster. The cheese wasn't even melted. My daughter didn't like it. But Ok everyone has a different taste. The chicken fried steak that was ordered was disgusting and soggy with nasty gravy. That was the worst chicken fried steak we had ever had ANYWHERE! The whole thing was soaked with Gravy all over the place in excess. Plus the chicken fried steak was a soggy batter as well. It was so gross he couldn't eat it. We finally got the salad that I had to go back up to the counter to get, it was okay. My spud was okay as well, seemed overly cooked and a little soggy but not sure why. I am very shocked at all these great reviews but this place we will not be back. The service was sub-par and the food...

Terrible service! We will not be returning! I ordered dinner for my family through DoorDash and when I received the order, my sons food was missing. I tried calling 9er's multiple times to see what happened and no one ever answers the phone. My husband decided to drive to 9er's to explain what happened and get my sons food. When he got there, the girl tried blaming it on Doordash and accused the driver of stealing the food. After he explained that we ordered 6 items and there were only 5 on the 9er's receipt, she looked the order up. Come to find out they didn't add it on their end. My husband asked if they could just make the order and he would wait. She said the kitchen had just closed (this was before 9 pm when they close) and that they were out of baked potatoes anyway. So did they not add it to the order by mistake or just not make it because they ran out of baked potatoes? Our only option was to contact Doordash for a credit and then go get my son something else for dinner. By the time we went through all this and got my son something else, our food was cold. Had a 12 PC buffalo wing and they arrived broken?.....I started with the 4 or 5 that appeared normal and took a chance on two more but by then I had my own little pile of bones I had to keep spitting out. I understand that can sometimes be common for one or two but I was served a basket of broken bone chicken.

I guess I could've brought it to their attention and asked for a replacement but I'm not one to return food. It was cooked and served hot. It just looked like the random pieces of chicken at the bottom of the frozen bag.

This may be the first time I've left uneaten food on the table. (Didn't help that it was a birthday lunch but not raging out on this review because of it...... Technically it was a free meal for me as someone else paid)

I know a lot of ppl that love this place and I believe they all recommended the daily specials so that's probably where I went wrong?

I always try to think of some sort of positive part to leave in the review but even the booths were weird(always do tables with chairs)........I guess I'll say the fountain drink...
