Ownership, I am going to tell you something and I REALLY hope you read this. I have been living in Houston for 17 years. I have seen a lot of restaurants come and go. Being that Houston is so large, I tend to frequent places that are close to home. This location is a 3 minute drive from my home and I am going to start going to the Westheimer location moving forward. I am EXTREMELY disappointed. The quality, taste, size everything. The meat is dry and seasoned oddly. Like, it’s just going downhill. I tried to give your location a pass because the visit before this, my tahini sauce was literally watered down. The time before that, my bread was mushy and half filled. I give chances and I’m very forgiving, but this is it. There was barely any meat in my sandwich, today. I should have known by how light the bag was. 12 dollars for just the sandwich. I feel robbed. Customers notice when you cut corners, and I was a VERY loyal customer, but this will be my last visit. If you can no longer afford to bring quality (there are way TOO many other restaurant options to slack), shut it down. And I mean this review with no disrespect, just an honest, frequent customer that...
Read moreThey used to be good, my favorite thing here are the chicken zingers. They come with chicken zingers and French fries and white sauce but nowadays they don’t even try anymore. When I order on DoorDash they don’t even make the order correctly. They will make the chicken zingers as a wrap and not even cut it in small pieces how it’s advertised and they the worst part is that they don’t even give you fries with the chicken zingers for example, today I ordered two chicken zingers arabi on DoorDash. I spent $42, and for what? To not even receive my chicken zingers with fries how they are supposed to be. $42 for two wraps. Ridiculous. This is technically stealing from their customers. I’ll spend $15 on a chicken zinger plate and not even receive my order correctly and they will not even give you fries. This place honestly went downhill and I’m disappointed in their quality and now I’m at the point where I’ve received my order wrong so many times that I’m officially done...
Read moreThis is a must-stop anytime I find myself in the Sugar Land area. It’s hard to find quality Arab street food so I love how prolific the Abu Omar trucks are throughout Houston.
As a chicken skeptic, I appreciate how authentic and fully-cooked their zingers look and taste given that they’re cut in a way you can visually see the deliciousness. They even let me specify exactly where to slice from the skewer!
Fries are a make-or-break by the seasoning item and these guys have perfected their topping blend. Not too salty and just the right amount. I get side salads everywhere else, but at Abu Omar I get fries.
To round things out and convince myself of a balanced meal, they include some pickled veggies for my grateful palette. Who doesn’t love a little cauliflower?
If this location had a bench nearby then I’d spend every lunch here. You know it’s made to order because it doesn’t come out...
