I do not eat Pork, Beef, or Chicken so I was looking for a vegetarian/pescatarian lite bite and came across this restaurant. I ordered late-ish Sunday night via Uber eats, a falafel sandwich (with pomegranate sauce on the side) and fried cauliflower. Now, I eat middle eastern/mediterranean food all the time and I have had my share of really GOOD falafel and not so good falafel. However, I must say I was extremely disappointed in this falafel sandwich. This was the ABSOLUTE WORST falafel sandwich I have ever eaten...hands down. First off, the sandwich was rolled up in a flour tortilla (?) and grilled on both sides. I have never eaten falafel on a tortilla, but this was a large tortilla! Rolled over several times at that! I had to tear half of the tortilla off just to make this sandwich/wrap edible. Then the falafel was dry and the pomegranate sauce was NOT on the side as requested and it tasted horrible (to me) on the sandwich. There was NO tahini sauce, only 2 little pieces of tomato, about 6 falafel pieces, plenty of pickles, the horrible pomegranate sauce, and the tortilla wrap (of all things) which equaled a dry, disgusting sandwich/wrap for me. I gave the torn tortilla pieces to my dog and threw most of the sandwich in the trash. The only reason this review has 2 stars is because the fried cauliflower was excellent! If there would have been tahini sauce with it, I would have given Abu Omar Halal 3 stars based on my experience tonight. My advice based on this failed vegetarian experience is to pass on Abu 🥴 😤 I should have ordered from Dimassi's...
Read moreI love coming here with my family, but I need to talk about my experiences recently. they hired a new employee and ever since I’ve been experiencing messed up orders & rudeness. The first time I placed an order with her (two weeks ago) she said we can’t serve you we close in 30 minutes. I frequently would come here an order late night and never had an issue and I was a few minutes away. She laughed and said hahaha ok & I replied hahaha ok so you’re taking my order right? And she proceeded. I didn’t care too much but my order was messed up (lettuce when I asked for no lettuce) but I let it go. Now yesterday I ordered over the phone & she took my order. I asked for lamb gyro no lettuce or onions and my dad ordered a beef shawarma. we received two shawarmas with everything. I spoke with someone earlier and they said they would correct the issue, I could come in later and receive the correct food, and apologized. When I placed my order now the women answered and she really tried to say my dad probably ate my food.. and she has to charge us for the meal. We weren’t going to argue with her, but I’m shocked she couldn’t acknowledge the mistake instead blamed us. & I also found out when my dad picked up the two combo orders today she also told him you only get one drink. Lol. I can’t tell if she is like this purposely at this point. If you are the owner, I sincerely don’t think this this is the right job for your new employee. To work in the food industry and be successful one should be polite & know how to address...
Read moreI have to give them four stars as at least they do gyro/shawerma the right way, grilled right on the spit/skewer and carved directly to the bread. 100 times better than so called shawerma/gyros in many places where they either grill on griddles or carve them too thick and reheat them later. The stars they loose is for the taste unfortunately. They need to add more seasoning e.g. herbs and spices to make it more authentic otherwise the chicken shawerma i ate was pretty bland. Maybe it is made for American taste but then it looses it authenticity and taste. Secondly the wrap itself lacks any fixings or garnishing like fresh parsley, lettuce or tomatoes, hummus or anything else. There might have been a pickle or two I think which is good. I had them add tabouleh salad to my wrap which made it much better. But I wish they would season and grill the chicken a bit more and add some fixings and they will be gold. The other thing they can improve is greeting and being a bit more pleasant with customers. The lady at the counter seemed to be having a bad day and not really interested or had much knowledge about the food they...
