This could've been a solid three star neighborhood Chinese option, but several flubs kept them solidly in the two star realm.
So, on New Year's night, the lady friend and I decided we wanted Chinese near Pearland. And this came up as an option.
We decided to dine in, which like others noted, seems to be a bit of an afterthought compared to to-go. It took a few minutes for the server to visit us between phone orders, but that's ok.
Let's talk about the food and our experience. The fried pork potstickers were pretty standard, although both of us noted the sauce was sweeter than average. While I'd probably consider them again, I'd ask for chili oil to balance out the sweetness. She ordered General Tso's chicken, which was the best part of the meal. Pretty much the standard dish that you could get anyplace, but still good. I ordered the orange beef, which I'll get to describe in a moment. Oddly enough, our server brought out orange chicken, which she instantly recognized as a mistake and told us to keep while she went back to the kitchen. We received the orange beef promptly. Both dishes were similar. The orange sauce was surprisingly sweet and lacked any heat -- in fact, the dish didn't have any peppers in it like I've noticed at other places. What I did notice with both the orange beef and chicken were a large amount of bell peppers and onions, which I've never seen with orange beef or chicken, nor did I see in the menu's description.
The verdict? It's serviceable strip mall Chinese, but which would benefit from both more spice and better descriptions...
Read moreMy husband and I was visiting Houston Texas for a couple days we stayed at the Sleep Inn in pearland Upon checking in we ask the Hotel clerk where can we get some good delivery she suggested Silverlake Hunan Restaurant, so we order from them. (Let me started by saying they do not deserve the one star I gave them) the food was very very nasty, the shrimp egg foo young I order didn't come with the gravy I normally get with shrimp egg foo young instead I receive some sauce made straight from soy sauce. ( salty as hell) they over charge us and on top of them over chargeing us they didn't even bring all our order that we paid for, oh yet did I say the food was horrible. Now this is what put icing on the cake the delivery guy didn't even speak English so he didn't know what was going on, so we end up calling back to the restaurant The lady was unapologetic and far from considerate all she kept saying I packed the bag myself, I got so frustrated I just hung up. #if you are in Texas and reading this review please avoid this restaurant...
Read moreI ordered to go last saturday 4/6 and I usually don't leave reviews let alone bad ones however for the $63 that I spent on a few items it was beyond lackluster quality.
The shrimp fried rice and crab puffs were the only things that was ok, the pepper steak was trash AF, firstly the container wasn't even full LOL it look like the cook may have helped himself to a few bites secondly it wasn't even hot, so yes warm half eaten pepper steak! Idk if I can even call it steak because the meant was so thin sheesh they're stingy, Now the egg rolls were hot garbage small burnt and just not good.
Ok the Lo mein oh mane where do I even begin to describe the atrocities of that noodle dish! I
feel like that place is only still open bc of the convenient location in the shopping center. I decided to order from there while waiting for the 72 ppl to leave the Ups store next door and I really shouldn't have.
For the money I invested into that place I simply feel taken...
