This incident occurred at this Ross Store in 10426 Broadway St. Pearland, Tx.77584 on Thursday, October 31st 2024 around 8:00 p.m.. This is what I experienced while trying to shop at this particular Ross Store location. I was actually being Racially profiled and Discriminated against by this Ross Store Loss Prevention Team member. This employee a tall young Hispanic man by the name of Bryon or Brian. He was very rude and disrespectful towards me.
Normally, I never shop at this particular Ross Stores location. However, as I entered the store, I was greeted by this Loss Prevention Team member employee. Well, later while I was near the front of the store shopping for Lotions about 10 to 15 minutes later this same Loss Prevention Team member employee Bryon or Brian. He later walked towards me and approached me and asked me out aloud what are you doing??? And he the Loss Prevention Team member employee proceeded to let me know that they have been watching me the whole time that I entered the store. Because, I placed some used small paper tissue that I had in my hands upon entering the Store on the side of the counter without placing it in the trash.
So, at this point I asked him the Loss Prevention Team employee are you trying to say that I’m stealing and did you see me steal something??? And at this point he could not say anything but looking stupid and silly at me, and kept walking and talking saying to me that we been watching you. Then he said he has a Criminal Justice degree. I’m like really and what does that have anything to do with your behavior and trying to harass me.
Then, later, I spoke to the Ross Store Manager on duty and I explained to him what happened and that I will be filing a complaint with their Corporate office. I was really shocked and surprised of this employees behavior. Unfortunately, this young man this Loss Prevention Team member targeted me the wrong Black African American woman that he thought he could get away with Racially profiling and Discriminating against me. And believe me, I have enough factual evidence to prove to Ross Stores CEO to what actually happened to me!!!
And going forward, I blame Ross Stores Corporation for not better training their inexperienced employees who are targeting Black African American Consumers with Racist Discrimination practices and trying to violate our Civil Rights. And, most importantly, it’s very degrading and uncomfortable, while trying to leisurely shop, as a Black African American Consumer and not knowing that you are publicly being Racially Profiled, Discriminated against and then...
Read moreWe’ve gone to this location a couple of times and go to multiple locations in the area. I have never witnessed such terrible, belittling and absolutely rude customer service. I understand there are “corporate policies” as one of the managers stated, but there is ABSOLUTELY no reason “supervisor” KENZI should be SHOUTING at people in front of their faces to take off the hangers off of the clothing before coming to the register. Mind you more than half of the customers were Spanish speakers. This “supervisor” then proceeds to yell across to the other associates “you have to yell at THEM” or else they won’t listen,” and continued to snicker and repeat it again while the other associates laughed. Maybe if your supervisor KENZI is treating people like this, she’s probably in the wrong line of work. I hope this issue gets resolved and people at your store treat customers like actually human beings instead of making them feel like they’re walking through TSA, and if you did want us to follow “corporate policies”, y’all would have the racks cleared for customers to follow those said policies and take the hangers off of the clothing. I have worked in customer service and management for close to 14 years and I was in complete shock at how this supervisor was treating customers at this store. Absolutely...
Read moreI purchased this adidas shirt last week and I got ready to wear it today only to find these two holes near the collar from the ant theft sensor. I had already thrown the receipt away but I didn't think it would be an issue to exchange it. I was told by an employee as well as the store manager that they could not let me exchange it because it did not have a Ross store tag, it only had the Adidas tag on it. I feel like an exception should have been made because #1 it should not have been sold without the Ross store tag in the first place. They didn't have a problem selling it without one so they should not have had a problem exchanging. #2 It should not have been tagged in a manor that damages the clothing. I would not have had to return it if it weren't damaged. Ross needs to train their employees how to properly tag clothing and they should not be allowed to sell any item without a Ross store tag. UPDATE: I took the shirt to the other Ross in Pearland on Pearland PKWY and they exchanged the shirt with no problems and no mention of the store policy or the missing Ross tag. I was only asked for my ID for the exchange and luckily they had...
