Today, 9/18/21 about 1:30 p.m., I was really looking forward to eating a salad with grilled chicken from here. Two of my sons and I ate here last week and the chicken was fresh with a plentiful portion. We've been here several times - sometimes good and sometimes not so good. The quality isn't consistent, so you never know what you might get.
However, today was the worst, which prompted me to write a review. The grilled chicken was at least 3 days old and tasted terrible. Compared to what we were served a week ago, it didn't even seem like it was from the same restaurant, yet it was. It's upsetting to think they are capable of serving good food and yet chose not to do so today. The consistency of the chicken was tough like rubber, which made me think it had been heated in a microwave. I tried to eat several pieces, but it was inedible. Just thinking about it now is nauseating.
Then, as if the experience with Big City Wings wasn't already bad enough, the manager seemed unconcerned about serving such disgusting food. Her first offer was to replace the meal, which I always find laughable. Once a business has destroyed the trust of the customer, especially in food service, there's no going back, in my opinion. The cooking staff absolutely know when they have prepared a substandard dish and should get no second chances.
Then, the most offensive statement the manager could've made was when she told me the chicken had been prepared fresh. When I told her to show me, I meant for her to go get the chicken I had been served and point out any signs of freshness. The texture of the chicken was tough from being microwaved or just being old (it didn't even pull apart easily); it smelled and tasted old; and it looked shriveled and dry. Instead of inspecting the chicken, she brought out raw chicken to prove they cooked it fresh after I ordered it. Your manager smiled at me as if she thought she was being humorous. I laugh now at her absurdity, but I wasn't laughing then.
I've heard it's hard to find good employees since the pandemic, but now I'm truly a believer! She was one of the poorest excuses for management I think I've ever encountered. All she kept saying was how they always serve fresh food, cooked after the customer places his order. What I expected her to say was that she would check further into the problem and correct the situation for future paying customers. At no time did she give my statements any possible validity and repeatedly said the chicken was freshly cooked. "I'm sorry, but we always cook the food fresh," and she said it with a big joker smile every time she repeated it. Yikes. Scary.
Finally, I told her that was simply a lie. No matter how many times you make an untrue statement, in the end it is still an untrue statement. I stopped trying to reason with her as I realized I was dealing with a mentally challenged individual. Poor thing.
Epic failure on serving fresh food. Epic failure on offering a sincere apology. Epic failure in respecting...
Read moreWe came there to have family dinner. Everything was fine until the check out part. I represented my family and politely ask our server why you overcharged us on this specific item until the mixed Spanish manager woman confront us and ask what happened. I have already explained the whole situation but she keeps saying that we're at fault. The story is, we ordered the "Pint of beer (Premium)" which stated on the menu 7$ and we have ordered 3 of them. In the end, those cost us nearly 40$ which is double the price that stated on the menu. The woman manager told us that if our server delivered to us the wrong ones, thus we should ask him to exchange for the right one. Since this is our first time here and how should we know how big is the portion of the item that we know it was right or wrong in the first place, that doesn't know make any senses Then the woman manager kept telling us that it was our fault at first not telling the sever exchange before comsuming the item. The question is how would we know what's the item looks like or how large is it. I asked her that when we ordered, as we don't know how big or large the item is, we just simply pointed the finger at the item on the menu that we would like to order. The server brought the wrong item and now she blamed on us, accused us not checking before consuming. Do you think this is ridiculous in your opinion? Me, the same, have been working in the customer service field for more than 20 years. You cannot assume or bring the wrong size of food or item to the customer and expect the customer to pay more than what they have ordered on the menu, specifically in this situation we've used our own finger to point at the item on the menu. Therefore, as the manager, you should apologize first, suffer for the loss that your server has caused and take resposibility on behalf of his own trouble since he messed up, not blaming the customer since they do not thing wrong. Customers in general, they're smart on when they spend their money on the options, food, entertaining or services. So don't think they are stupid so that you could cheat on them or overcharge them on the price. Not only ruining my family dinner's atmosphere but no one will come to this place and support you again to be honest. Feel free to check on the camera to verify what has happened and feel shame on yourself....
Read moreIf I could give a negative star I would! $8.00 for a 5pc wing that I assumed came with a side and drink but NOPE. No combo specials & way overpriced for mediocre wings [strike 1] I go in as a 1st time customer willing to give this neighborhood spot a chance. it was completely dead inside. Seemed like all the staff was hanging out in the front entry way (unprofessional) but like I said there wasn't much going on so they were all just chilling. I go to order and could tell the guy was new (which is fine, I was in no rush) at the register because he kept asking for help before he pushed every button. I would assume since so many of his "qualified" coworkers were near and not doing anything the process would have went a little smoother than it did. Took 13 minutes just to order. Once I finished none of the employees thought to move off the bench that customers wait at to let me sit down. I go to wait in my car for the 15 mins I was told it would take. [Side note: I came to order in person instead of online because I wanted my food fresh, nothing sucks more than ordering online then going to pick up only to figure out ur food just been sitting there getting cold and soggy] I waited longer than the time needed to go n get my food by about 5 minutes or so. I go in and he asked me what I ordered as if he didn't remember taking forever to take my order just 20 minutes ago. He goes to check, comes back and says it's not ready. I stand there n wait another 10 minutes before he goes and asks his coworker about it. She comes to the counter yelling at him and belittling him right in front of me talking to him like he's a child. I was uncomfortable and embarrassed for him. Turns out my food had been at the bottom shelf of the togo orders this whole time. They rush to put my food in a bag no napkins or anything. Get to my car to double check my food and everything is of course cold. Damn near $30 of disappointment and horrible experience. Guess I'll never betray...
