If i could give this place 0 stars I would but I want to share my recent dining experience at this restaurant last Thursday December 21. My family and I, a party of five, including two adults and three children, visited for dinner. Unfortunately, our experience was far from pleasant. My family had already been waiting for about ten minutes before I arrived, and when I got there, we waited an additional 30 minutes just to place our order. It was another 30 to 40 minutes before our food was served. During this time, we were repeatedly served water without any attention from the waitstaff.

When I finally inquired about placing our order, the waitress pointed to someone who had been ignoring us the entire evening, and her response, which was delivered with a sigh and a rude tone, was, "WHAT DO YOU WANT." It was a moment that left us in disbelief, and we should have left immediately. However, the only reason we stayed was because our hungry children needed to be taken care of.

To add to our disappointment, when my husband and I ordered margaritas upon my arrival, they were shockingly bad (watery and sugary). We had to send them back and opt for the frozen ones from the machine hoping they would be better. Our orders took a long time to arrive, and two of them were incorrect. It was clear that the service was subpar, and it felt as though we were not wanted there. Additionally, we couldn't help but notice the differential treatment compared to other guests, which was disheartening.

What made matters worse was that we could hear unfavorable comments about other customers that were being made in Spanish, seemingly under the assumption that we didn't understand. (as the waitstaff would walk by but come back to those customers tables and smile right to them and continue to serve them, while we were ignored) And rude gestures toward us waving us off. However, as a Black Latino Spanish speaking family, we did understand what was being said, and it made our dining experience even more uncomfortable. Despite all this, my husband still left a tip.

On a slightly positive note, the man we assume was a manager did comp my husband's meal due to it being incorrect. However, it's worth noting that the waitress, who initially didn't want to take our order, repeated his order back to me incorrectly, and I had to correct her, but as I said she didn't want to help us so I highly doubt she was listening.

If management or whoever the owner is cares or would like more information, please let me know. However, after reading the reviews after the fact, it's clear that this isn't the first time this type of experience has happened at this establishment. It was a disappointing experience, and we will never return to...

Sure, here's a revised restaurant review reflecting those points:

Restaurant Review: The Rustic Fork

Located in the heart of downtown, The Rustic Fork aims to deliver a pleasant dining experience with a blend of rustic charm and modern comfort.

Ambiance: The decor is inviting, featuring wooden beams, exposed brick walls, and warm lighting. It strikes a balance between modern elegance and a cozy, farmhouse feel, making it a comfortable spot for a casual meal.

Service: Unfortunately, the service fell short during my visit. While the staff was polite, the attentiveness and efficiency were lacking. It took quite a while to get our orders, and we had to remind the server a couple of times about our requests.

Food: The food quality was average. I started with the roasted beet salad, which was decent but not particularly memorable. For the main course, I tried the braised short ribs. The meat was reasonably tender, but the flavor was somewhat underwhelming. The sides of mashed potatoes and seasonal vegetables were standard but not exceptional.

Dessert was a warm apple tart with vanilla bean ice cream. It was pleasant but didn't stand out as a highlight of the meal.

Drinks: The wine list offered a good selection, and I enjoyed a glass of Pinot Noir, which was one of the better aspects of the dining experience.

Value: One of the strong points of The Rustic Fork is its pricing. The food is reasonably priced, making it a good option for those looking for a decent meal without breaking the bank.

Overall: The Rustic Fork offers good food for the price, but don't expect an outstanding culinary experience. The ambiance is lovely, but the service could use improvement. If you’re looking for an affordable meal in a cozy setting, it’s worth a visit, but keep your...

I have traveled the world been all over Mexico and my home Town is El Paso, Texas. I am an official foodie and I make it a point to try as many Mom and Pop establishments as possible and offering a fair and unbiased review.

Sunday, my Mother want to have a family dinner out and I have passed this place many times and it always seems busy, so I went to the reviews to get a feeling for the place. Well, those reviews didn't do this place justice in my minds eye. THIS PLACE ROCKS!

Here is what I found great about it:

°CLEAN, IN ALL RESPECTS; IN DINNING ROOM, RESTROOMS, KITCHEN, PATIO, AND SURROUNDING BUILDING PREMISES.

°FRIENDLY ATTENTIVE STAFF, WELL DRESSED AND GROOMED

°FRICKING AWESOME FOOD, 5 ADULTS ONE CHILD; EVERYONE WAS BRAGGING ABOUT THEIR DISH.

°TASTY SALSA WITH A GOOOOOD AFTERBURN.

°AMPLE PORTION SIZE, SO COME HUNGRY.

°CRISPY FRESH AND HOT CHIPS, SERVED WITH OPTION CASO AND SIDE JALAPENOS.

°REASONABLE PRICE WITH AND EIGHT PAGE MENU, ANYONE CAN FIND SOMETHING GOOD.

°MARGARITAS, WERE A LITTLE OFF TASTE FOR ME (FROZEN), BUT ONE THE ROCKS WAS BETTER.

Wish I could say more this place well worth the trip and I and my family will be regulars from here out.

They are open early so breakfast tacos to go will be my morning runs for sure. So give them a try you won't be...

Visited a couple of times now and the service has been absolutely wonderful. The staff is very kind and helpful, the drinks are wonderful, the food is delicious, and the atmosphere is cozy. It's easily one of my favorite places to dine. Update: We had a terrible Easter experience at a different restaurant. The next day we went back here to make up for it. The staff was so lively and welcoming and the food was great so we considered it our Easter meal instead. Once again, this place is just the best simply by doing what they do and having a wonderful relationship with their customers. 11/10

We actually came here on accident. We were navigating to another restaurant and ended up here and decided to give it a try. The salsa and the queso with meat were not bad but very runny. The meals were very bland and lacked flavor. My husband usually loves most food and he said it was not very good. The restaurant was very nicely decorated and very clean but unfortunately we were very disappointed. We had the enchilada dinner that has cheese and a side of guacamole, the tamales that come with a chili/meat sauce and the trio dinner that came with a chicken, beef and cheese enchiladas.

Stopped in for a couple drinks. I had the classic magarita. It was very bitter (sour). Didn't taste any alcohol and my friend had the melon daquiri. He did enjoy his drink, the chips and salsa was good. It's Sunday funday so this was the start of the shenanigans. The staff was friendly and welcoming. Didn't order any food so I can't rate them on that. I would return and try a few items on the menu in the future. The place was pretty empty. It was Sunday so maybe a bigger crowd during the week. They do offer happy hour from 11- 6 on a Sunday so that's a plus.
