If you're looking for a taste of Southern comfort food with a seafood twist, Georgia's Catfish Kitchen is the place to be! This cozy spot delivers a menu packed with variety and bold flavors, ensuring that every seafood lover finds something to enjoy.
Menu Variety: Georgia's offers a broad selection, from baskets filled with perfectly cooked fish, shrimp, and oysters to hearty po'boys and flavorful gumbo. They also cater to those seeking lighter options with fresh salads featuring fried or grilled seafood. The combination baskets are a standout, allowing you to mix and match items with generous portions. Prices are very reasonable, with most options falling between $10.99 and $15.99, making it a great value for the quality and quantity of food.
Sides and Extras: Their side options, like jambalaya, red beans and rice, and seasoned green beans, are excellent complements to the seafood. The green beans were fresh and well-seasoned, and the jambalaya was rich with spices and hearty chunks of meat, elevating the entire meal.
The Food: The grilled shrimp and fish platter I tried was nothing short of amazing. The shrimp were juicy, with a perfect char that added smokiness to the sweet, tender meat. The fish was flaky and seasoned just right, letting its natural flavor shine through. Paired with the sides of seasoned green beans and jambalaya, the meal felt like a homemade Southern feast. Each bite showcased their attention to quality and flavor balance.
Atmosphere and Service: While the review is based more on the food, the atmosphere reflected a down-to-earth, welcoming vibe. The digital menu boards were clear and well-organized, making it easy to navigate their offerings.
Final Thoughts: Georgia's Catfish Kitchen is a hidden gem for seafood lovers and Southern cuisine enthusiasts alike. Whether you're craving gumbo, fried shrimp, or a fresh salad, their menu has you covered. Be sure to come hungry because the portions are generous, and you’ll want to savor every bite! Read moreWho's writing these reviews...4.3 rating?! My wife and I love to support small businesses, so we stopped at Georgia's for a first time visit. Food came up to $39.99 (catfish and shrimp w/ 2 sides and 5 catfish platter-slice lemon cake and caramel cheesecake-2 drinks). After 30 mins of waiting, I went up to the counter to make sure he hadn't called my number and I happened to miss it (no receipt) and he didn't because he had to go through the records to find mine (even with no crowd). He talked to the chef in the back and he had no record of my order! A few customers before us had been there longer and they didn't have their food and one lady softly went off on them for making her late for work! In his explanation to her, he was verbally destroying the kitchen workers for their slothfulness...to her! After a full hour +, we got our food: Catfish fillets were more like STRIPS, catfish tasted like swai or whiting...not catfish, shrimp was cooked in corn meal and over-cooked hard (old grease), ranch salad dressing tasted like BLUE CHEESE, jambalaya had 1 half of a smoked sausage circle...just the half and 1 sugar cube size chunk of chicken and no seasoning (like RICE-a-RONI), my wife's $2.90 lemon cake slice did not have lemon in it and happens to be the same price as the full sized cake at the Walmart in walking distance!!! The price of the food wasn't an issue until we received the service! Needless-to-say...this was a ONE...
Read moreBeen eating at this location for at least like 6 yrs. The food is great. Service is horrible. I’ve always ignored because the food is amazing but last night was the worst. I called to place an order and the worker left the phone on the hook not on hold for 5 mins so I hang up and call again. Only for her to do the same thing with a tone change in her voice. So I called and she repeatedly hangs up on me. When I finally arrive after getting no one to answer the phone. The young lady was standing outside smoking staring me down when I got out of the truck and stared at me the whole time I walked to the door. She followed me in not saying anything. The old man cook was sitting on his ass watching tv and the tall skinny young cook was on his phone leaned on the counter. She follows me up to the counter doesn’t say anything still just stares at me!? I had to say hi I’d like to place an order to go. And she said what do you want. I said two bowls of gumbo only because I knew they did not want to work. I really wanted some fried catfish to go with the gumbo. I’m not trying to eat food made by people who don’t wanna cook No telling what they’re gonna do to it and as soon as I order the gumbo, the old man Cook said oh thank God I thought you were gonna make me cook. I said nah and waited for my gumbo. Hire people who...
