Here's the TLDR on this Restaurant. More details below: Jinya Ramen Bar is a wonderful (but expensive) ramen experience! They know they have mouthwateringly good ramen, and they charge you for it. Expect to pay for anything extra, even making their regular ramen spicy costs extra...
More details: I ordered the Tonkatsu Black, stated to be their signature ramen dish by a server, and it did not disappoint! I got mine with thick noodles, rather than their traditional ramen noodles that comes with the dish, but I've had both and both are delicious!
Their Spicy Creamy Vegan Ramen (pictured with an added egg, which it does not come with by default) is so amazing that my wife doesn't order anything else which is pretty rare as she enjoys trying new things all the time.
The only place where Jinya lacks is in their small plates section. We've tried their Brussels Sprouts Tempura and Crispy Chicken (pictured) as well as their Pork Gyoza. While none of these dishes are bad, none really stand out as amazing.
The Brussels Sprouts Tempura taste like... Brussel Sprouts fried tempura style. To be fair, I guess you get exactly what you order, but the sprouts weren't tender, making them difficult to eat. It comes with a sauce that adds flavor but, for the price, I would skip it.
The only real issue I have with the Gyoza, which may not apply to other people, is that the interior is fairly... wet. Something I'd expect from a water boiled dumpling or a steamed dumpling, but not a pan fried dumpling.
The Crispy Chicken is cooked very well and, of the three we tried, it was probably their best small plate dish. That being said, when compared to their ramen which is so full of complex and wonderful flavors, this...
Read moreI have been getting food from JINYA Ramen Bar - Cypress for several months now.
Ever since it was first introduced to me, I have been impressed with the quality of the food and flavor that JINYA seems to consistently achieve every time. This restaurant easily makes it into my top 10 for amazing flavor within the Cypress area.
A variety of their dishes have impressed me, including the vegan options, which came as a delightful surprise! My current go-to is a toss-up between the Tonkotsu Black or Tonkotsu Spicy, but I have yet to be disappointed in the flavor of any of the dishes so far.
The price is somewhat of a premium; however, the quality of the food at its price, even compared to other ramen places, is very hard to beat. For me, the value is worth it every time and I can't get enough of this food.
I usually order takeout or delivery to keep up with my schedule, but when I have been inside, the vibes are lively and inviting. I have not been present during rush hour, but it seems like a great place for lunch or dinner, quieter than a sports bar, yet still casual and welcoming. There are booths, seats at the bar, high tables, and even some seating outside.
The service I have received rivals the quality of the food. I have been particularly impressed by the customer service at this store. I have spoken with the staff, hostesses, and Tony, one of the floor managers, on multiple occasions. (Tony rocks!) They are kind, accommodating, and creatively resourceful in their service every time.
The people here go above and beyond and they make you feel special! I was not expecting the quality of service here, and I highly recommend that you try...
Read moreCame out to visit my brother and he suggested we try out Jinya since he knows I love Ramen.
We were greeted as soon as we walked in, and got seated pretty quickly. The staff were all friendly. Our server was Cheyenne I believe, and she suggested the crispy chicken. We started with a couple beers, crispy chicken, and pork gyoza. The crispy chicken was so good, crispy on the outside and juicy and flavorful on the inside as it should be. The pork gyoza were very tasty and we ended up getting a second order of them. My brother got the Spicy Chicken ramen, and loved it! I got the Tonkostu Spicy and wow it was delicious perfect balance of flavor and spice. As we were enjoying our meal, the manager came over and introduced herself (Lexi) and a see how everything was, from the server to the food. And even suggested we try the Jinya Buns (steam bun with pork chashu). I’m glad she did because that was my favorite treat of the night, it was good. Definitely getting one every time I go from now on. Overall we had a great visit. Food was great, service was excellent, and as I also work in food and beverage, I thought it was great to see the manager checks on their customers while maintaining great service and standards. 10/10 will definitely be...
