I've visited this place twice now, and while I really wanted to love it, the experience left me a bit underwhelmed... especially when it comes to the food and drinks.
Let’s start with the positives: the atmosphere is absolutely charming. The space is clean, chic, and thoughtfully designed. It has that welcoming vibe that makes you want to settle in and stay a while (except there are no seats, it's really meant to grab and go). The staff have also been consistently friendly, which I really appreciate.
Unfortunately, the food doesn't quite live up to the aesthetics. Several kolaches I tried tasted subpar, with ingredients that seemed cheaply sourced. The buffalo chicken kolache, for example, appeared to be made with frozen popcorn chicken—some bites were mostly just breading with no actual meat. And the butter chicken was the same! Butter chicken made with popcorn chicken? Hopefully this changed because that was from my first visit several months ago. The ham in the ham 'n swiss croissant resembled cafeteria-style lunch meat, lacking in flavor and texture.
The iced coffee was another letdown. My husband noted it tasted bitter and, even when requested extra sweet, it just didn’t hit the mark. Granted, he likes his coffee very sweet. But I don't, so when I took a sip the sweetness was underwhelming. The apple fritter was okay—decent flavor, but with some dry patches. The standout was the spicy smoked jalapeño sausage kolache, which had a much better flavor and texture. The bacon, egg, and cheese was just average.
It’s frustrating because the potential is definitely there. They clearly invested in creating a beautiful, inviting space with great service. But as a customer, when the product doesn’t match the promise of the experience, it’s disappointing. I’ve been to shady places with less-than-stellar service but food so good it didn’t matter. Here, it's the opposite.
I truly hope the owners revisit the quality of their ingredients and recipes, because with just a little more care on that front, this place could absolutely have the full package. I appreciate the wide variety and creative selections on the menu, but without quality, even the most inventive...
Read moreThis franchise location is very disappointing and scary! The kolaches are almost empty compared to when they first opened and other locations. They use the same gloves that take payment with and touches the food/donuts! Covid is still very real and cash is the most dirtiest currency traveling across million of people hands!! They even put your food in the microwave on the bare tray to warm and them take their hands to put it back in the bag!! Disgusting!!! I’ve watched them from Drive thru to front counter and will never enter that place again. There was a fly landing on the kolaches and they were still putting them in the bag to give to customers. The kolaches I told them I didn’t want after watching them and requesting my refund, they...
Read moreWe really love karma kolache, not only is it close to the house but yummy as well. However I ordered some letter donuts yesterday for a birthday today, and had trouble trying to order and pay over the phone (about 15 mins). Finally after 4 attempts and multiple cards they agreed to just let me pay when I came to pick up. Then this morning only 30 mins prior to pickup they called to ask if I could come an hour later (not and option as it was on my way to work which is 40 mins away, for my coworker). They said the mixer was down, I hope this was just one of those days where stuff happens, but it left me empty handed and...
